Can anybody help. I have acquired am old Panasonic ES20D - principally because I am fed up with new Pannys' Lasers failing.

The problem is it won't tune in Freeview which I can see why straightaway. The Firmware is at 1.01 and has obviously not received an over air download in its life. A vanilla 2005 machine won't work with a 2016 Freeview broadcast.

Anybody know where you can locate the firmwares for this old machine?

Some points

1. There is a post from 2009 on this forum referencing just this subject but unfortunately the mediafire link no longer works. I am trying to contact the originator of that link separately.

2. Panasonic Customer Care have proved to be absolutely useless.

3. Yes there is a disk on sale on ebay but I think it may only relate to the DVB tuner. I will purchase it if necessary but I am not sure it will contain all the firmware available - just that for the tuner.

From what I can see the firmware disks being sold on eBay are the latest available for that machine. There are numerous references to the version number jumping from 1. something to 8. something with no 2, 3, 4 etc in-between.

So pretty sure the disks will do the job, assuming they are what they purport to be and are the real genuine Panasonic firmware.

It's still on the ftp site.
I downloaded it the other night but it wouldn't update mine from v1.14

ftp://ftp.panasonic.com/pub/Panasoni.../DMRES20/Main/

It would appear that this firmware may be v1.14 or lower. You'll just need to try it.
