Syncing iTunes Playlists
Does anybody else have a problem with these?
I like to create and amend my playlists on my iPad and then sync them to my PC laptop. Every so often a playlist will go totall doolally. The symptoms are varied. For instance a 50 track playlist will be synced to the laptop and although the playlist on the laptop is fine, 3 tracks will be removed from the original playlist on the iPad. Subsequent syncs do not repair the problem. If I then duplicate the 50 track on the laptop and do another sync, the duplicate on the iPad will also have the last 3 tracks missing. Sometimes duplicate playlists will automatically be created during the sync process even though they have only been amended on the iPad. This has been happening for a long time and up until now with some perseverance I eventually get the lists to tally between devices but on the particular one I'm creating at the moment I'm totally stumped.. After about 5 hours of trying,I simply cannot get the playlist on the iPad the same as the one on the laptop. Edit: Just been doing a further test to try and break this down and found that it is certain tracks that won't sync. Just created a playlist of 13 tracks from the same album on my iPad. I do a sync and only 4 tracks are transferred to the laptop. A subsequent sync causes the playlist on both laptop and iPad to be reduced to 4 tracks. The tracks exist on both devices and it's always the same 4 that get synced so I need to work out what is special about them. |

I finally sorted.
When I say sorted it, I mean that I found a workaround. I gave all of the tracks a star rating on the iPad and now they all sync. |
