I went to bed after the IC bout as I figured nothing else would love up to that and I was falling asleep!

WWE logic:

Build Ambrose vs. Lesnar up as a brutal, hardcore street fight in which he is an unhinged madman who will use any weapon at his disposal to win. Expected to steal the show at WWE's biggest event ever, Wrestlemania 32. Instead the match features nothing more than kendo sticks and chairs.

Build up a nothing feud on a B-PPV between Ambrose and a past-his-best Chris Jericho. Use it to debut a new match type, use barbed wire and have the first thumbtack spot in years.

Makes. NO. SENSE.

Is it though? Or has it just been WWE'd, There is no move that doesn't get kicked out of these days

Odd PPV that. When it was good it was really good, when it was bad it was so bad.

The IC Title match was brilliant and the WWE Title match was good too (even though I did feel the kick-outs/interference reached ludicrous levels towards the end).

On the other hand, the Divas finish was awful - and made Natty seem like a total moron. Flair hasn't had hair that big for about 15 years.

And Ambrose/Jericho felt like it would never end - and I was FF'ing it. The only good part of that match was the ending and the ominous music as a potted plant descended - which I'm not sure I was meant to find funny.

Oh yeah and Kneesus returned.
Great to have him back - and bloody quick recovery (when I first heard the Orton/Rollins/Cena injuries I thought Seth's would takest the longest to recover from).
Just hope he really is fully recovered - often when WWE superstars are back quicker than expected they soon get injured again.

That said seems like they're still going to have him as a heel which is a bit odd but there you go.

The fan reactions would beg to differ. When you're having to mute the mics at the end of the main-event of Wrestlemania for a face that kinds of suggests the face character isn't working.

Also, what is Reigns's character actually meant to be?
I remember Ziggler used to get this criticism on here but I'd struggle to explain Reigns's character to a first-time viewer other than 'guy who - ignoring MITB cash-ins - hasn't been pinned clean in over 4 years'.
Whereas I could probably explain the character of 90% of the rest of the roster.


We all know the answer to that. Given the lengths they've gone to already to try and pretend Roman is the most adored athlete of all-time there's no way he's not the face in this feud.
Even if it does seem ludicrous that Vince will want us to boo the guy who's come back from a very serious knee injury. But still when has ludicrous stopped WWE?


Except for the Reigns Spear - which seems immune to being kicked out of.

I don't mean to have a go at Reigns as much as I am (though even without the character I still probably wouldn't be a huge fan) but honestly the superman character and the farcicial attempts WWE go to to ignore the crowd booing honestly wind me no end.

Plus the 'SpearOuttaNowhere' is blindingly obvious at times. I could spot it coming for the main-event a good while before it happened

You did see the Ambrose Ayslum and Diva's Title match didn't you? Both were an utter mess.

Knowing WWE Rollins will come out on Raw get a huge ovation and then he shits on the crowd because Vince wants creative to keep him as a heel.

I think its time Rollins was a face to be honest.

If WWE made sense Ambrose would be in the Main Event not Reigns. Alot of wrestlers have said Ambrose should be World Champ by now.

But that Asylum match last night was pretty bloody damn good.

Reigns has great matches. Ambrose has shit, boring matches. He just gets more credit cause he's an indy guy. But he's sucked for months now while Reigns has been knocking it out of the park in the ring for over a year.

You and I must have been watching very different matches, I thought it was absolutely terrible.

He's not a heel.

I do feel this thread at times is pretty quick to forget stuff.

This time a year ago people were suggesting Reigns hadn't had a good solo match full stop - now it's the opposite extreme.

And the Jericho and Ambrose criticism at times last night by a few posters was a tad much. Not the best match ether by either and both are stale at the moment but I did think the 'Miz is better than Jericho and Ambrose and it's not even close' stuff is very much focussing here and now.
It also ignores the fact Miz's gimmick suits him down to the ground whereas Jericho just isn't the superstar he was even 3 years ago and Ambrose's character is just stale.


Let's not forget less than a few years ago Ambrose was tearing the house down with the Shield on a biweekly basis whereas Miz was beyond dire as a face. Miz's highlight reel with Barrett and Jericho in particular was horrendous by any measure - with probably the worst British accent ever.
Plus post Shield break-up Ambrose was probably the most on-fire of any WWE face for a while

Also, Jericho will go down as a great when he "actually retires" retires. Miz is good at playing the heel role he currently is - and I loved his promo last night - but no way when both are retired are we going to be ranking Miz's career above Jericho's. That's not being harsh on Miz - it's the truth.

And a pet peeve of mine but we can please stop with this 'internet hivemind' stuff - the internet is not one person and don't all just like superstars for the same reason.

They must have been on drugs.

Ambrose was in great matches with the Shield but so were the other two so he should get no more credit than the other two. He's regressed since then.

And just because Jericho has been better overall than Miz in his entire career doesn't mean that he's better in the ring than him at this point. Jericho is a good heel character but he doesn't belong in the ring anymore.

Actually he is. Roman still hugs some fans and hi fives them. Sure hes booed but so is John Cena and hes a face.

The thing with the booing if terrible on his entrance but why do those same fans cheer for him during the match?

Most of the match all I heard was A J Styles ROMAN REIGNS.

Whilst Nattie can obviously wrestle, I find her and Charlotte's matches boring. She's plain Jane on the mic too. The ending happened because of Emma's injury so they attached Dana onto Charlotte it seems. Either that or Dana will feud with Nattie next.

The triple threat match at Mania was match of the night. Since then the standard has dropped. The typical women's matches are better than a year ago but the ball has been dropped a little.

I like Charlotte's character and don't even mind Ric - the scared and apparently cocky heel suits Charlotte perfectly and she portrays it fantastically. We can complain about the lack of clean finishes but it doesn't matter, it just gives Charlotte more material plus when she does drop the title - it's going to make the pay-off better that somebody didn't not only beat her but stopped her cheating. It's similar to William Regal's brass knuckle title run. The fans will want it more (just check some of the comments after both title defenses on here).

The very fact that the women are no longer the toilet break shows how far they've come and it will only get better. Subject to injury, just wait until Sasha finally wins that title from Charlotte. The crowd will explode - that was proven when she interrupted Charlotte after the Royal Rumble match.

To be fair to you I think you did say he'd had 2 good matches (Lesnar and Bryan) but not any more.
I remember suggesting a few other matches he'd had were good and getting some disagreement.
I can't be assed to search out the posts but I vaguely remember some discussion.



That's the problem though - at this point is barely mentioned. Just seemed read as if it was suggesting Jericho and Ambrose weren't ever any good. The posts on Ziggler at times read the same too at times - as if he's never done anything good ever.

That's probably not the intention - and let's be clear I'm not suggesting at all that every opinion has to go 'at this time', 'based on current performance' etc. that'd just be stupid.

But at the same time I do think sometimes posts (not just you to be clear, I mean in general - myself included at times) can be very blanket - X is good, Y is shit etc.

You'd think we'd have learnt too from the New Day's turnaround not to write people off.

His match with AJ was good don't get me wrong. But the kick out situation is ludicrous with him now. The Styles Clash followed by Styles Clash on the chair a few seconds after and he still kicks out. I mean come on.

I totally understand why he won but that honestly makes the Styles Clash look the shittest move. Has AJ actually ever pinned anyone with it on PPV in WWE yet?

I agree they're making Roman Reigns look superhuman and AJ deserves better he's amazing, I mean phenomenal lol.

Loving the women's division these days so many interesting characters and depth of talent.

Surely they have not got Rusev winning the US Title just to lose it next Monday when Cena returns? Next Monday is also Memorial Day in America...hmmm. The hero Cena returns and demands a US Title shot.

I bloody hope not, the last thing Rusev needs is a feud with Cena again. As no way will they let Rusev come out looking the stronger after Cena is coming back from a long lay off.

Rusev's character is boring I was hoping Kalisto would keep the US championship.
