Well, if we're going to guess at scenarios....

They were finally starting to make it, and decided to have 'the chat' with their manager about how he wasn't the manager for them any more, and he took it badly.

Police now saying the theory is that the driver was inattentive, rather than it being deliberate

The Swedish police sound like clowns, contradicting what they themselves have said, as well as eye witness testimonys.

A reconstruction video on how it happened. It still makes no sense when you watch that video , the driver had warnings yet kept driving on.

Thanks for posting this. It will be interesting to see if the Swedish police come to any conclusions after completing their analyses.

Yes as the driver was clearly not asleep as he very carefully went around traffic to continue on when everybody else had stopped. Then ignored the fact he had gone though a barrier.

So the driver was not asleep, no drink or drugs in his system and yet he purposely moved into a side lane, sped past the other cars and then crashed through the first barrier. At this point he didnt stop. He was driving a brand new rental car yet was not concerned about damage to stop. Why ? Eye witnesses saw no brake lights. He then drove further and smashed through a second barrier before finally smashing into the opening bridge and falling into the river.

As horrific and hard it may be to believe im struggling to see any other explanation other then this was deliberate by the driver.

Sadly, I happen to agree., it does seem the only obvious answer. Maybe they had a row en route, or the driver had this planned all along. Having watched the reconstruction, the fact he deliberately drove through those barriers is self explanatory......

"The driver" this, "the driver" that. Who was driving? Don't they know or are they keeping it secret for a reason?

The name has been kept secret for privacy reasons.

I was under the impression it was the manager. The band members were having a few drinks that evening, according to people who had seen them, and it was mentioned that the manager was abstaining from alcohol etc.

Of course, we can't know for sure at the moment.

Privacy reasons! A bit pointless when it will all come out at the inquest.

No the manager was Craig Tarry and the drivers name has not been released.

Yes most people assume its him, but we dont know for sure. I would be inclined to agree.

He may well have been the driver.

Well why would it say the managers name and then in the next sentence say the drivers name has not been released ?

Explain that logic please

ETA " to autopsy results, the "unidentified driver" was neither under the influence of drugs or alcohol, nor asleep at the wheel of the car'

What's not particularly clear, as there seems to be conflicting language used, but did he pull up behind the line of traffic, then move into the hard shoulder and scream along the outside, or did he come up quickly behind the line of traffic and then change lanes at the last minute to avoid them.

The second scenario could imply mechanical or system failure. The first, not so much...

They have named everyone in the car, but they won't confirm which one of them was driving until they have decided if the driver acted criminally or if it was an accident.

Or that he was going too fast to stop.

Don't buy that. Maybe to not stop before he reached the back of the line of traffic, but if he was aware enough to pull round it, then he was aware enough to stop long before the bridge.

It turns out the police thought it was just a smashed barrier as they called the bridge operated who didn't see the debris on the road.

The witness account is interesting that they were speeding along the hard shoulder. I guess they were just trying to jump the bridge and not wait.

It would have affected the brake lights as the witness didn't see any.
