Arthur Darvill stars as the lead in in a great new Marvel series 'Legends of |Tomorrow' where he is a (rogue) time traveller who leads a band of marvel heroes and (former) villains to save future earth from an 'immortal' villain.

His character is a bit like that in the scene he played when he faced the cybermen in his Roman Gladiator gear.

Only slightly annoying thing is the typical US hamming up of a London accent, Sounds more like the legendary 'Dick Van Dyke' cockney accent!

It's an OK show, lots of parallels to Dr Who, but Darvill's acting is woeful.

Oilman, Marvel shows are always on ABC or Netflix. They'll never appear on CW because ABC and Marvel are both owned by Disney. CW is part-owned by Warner, who also own DC Comics. Hence why you'll find Arrow, The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow there. Indeed, in the UK, the DC shows are on Sky 1 and the Marvel ones aren't.

Doctor Who got a mention in an episode of Arrow. Felicity Smoak said that Ray Palmer knew the plots for Doctor Who episodes in all 34 seasons. Or something like that...

A bit weird seeing as John Barrowman was in the same episode. I think...

Don't forget Sky 1 also has the rights to Supergirl which is back in April

The show has another connection to Doctor Who

The voice of the ship's computer AI, Gideon is provided by Amy Pemberton who played Sally Morgan, a companion of the Seventh Doctor in several Big Finish audios

The 'time masters' and there instistence on not interfering with the timeline even to help, and rip hunter being the one rogue who wants to use time/space travel to save people all seems very familiar.

Rip Hunter and the Time Masters (at least the name) actually predate DW by a few years.

Isn't that fantastic? I watched legends of tomorrow thinking OMG they massively ripped off the Dr Who mythos, and actually it looks like we took an amercan idea and sold it back to them, just like the Beatles with the Everly Brothers and the Rolling Stones with the blues!
