Now, I know that my circumstances are going to be fairly unique and not many will have a similar set up, but I'm going to ask here anyway.

Since the latest update to the Netflix apps on iPhone and iPad, my AirPlay speaker (iHome iW1) pops and resets every time I start watching something. I've tried every other video source on both and nothing else causes this issue, testing with Amazon video, you tube, iTunes, Movies app and any other source I could think of. Netflix is the only app that does it.

I'm pretty sure this must be down to the latest update as it is only since then that it started doing it. I now can't watch anything on either device as the pop on the speaker is every few minutes and is causing much annoyance to everyone in the house. I have to turn the speaker off just to watch something, which defeats the point of a network speaker if I have to remember to turn it back on again.

Has anyone else come across this issue. No matter of resets and restarts seems to resolve it.

Hey denzil,

I have the same problem since I´ve updated the netflix iOS app. I´m using a Pioneer VSX 830 via Airplay. I´ve talked to the netlix support and they replied that they cannot ensure that all devices will work via airplay instead of Apple TV.

I´dont know what to do so far... Connecting the iPad to my Pioneer via Airplay is very important to me -.-

BR,
Max

I'm not even trying to output an AirPlay signal though, that's what's annoying me and Netflix developers have clearly screwed up network pinging.

I'm just wanting to watch a video on my iPad or phone and it causes my speaker to pop loudly and then go through a reset process, but as I said, I'm not even air playing the video or audio as all is output right on my device.

So it's not really ok for Netflix to say they can't ensure compatibility as they have broken the networking and causing the app to behave in a way that is not requested by the user. Only the Netflix app does this.

I don´t want to wait until it is fixed, so I searched for a downgrade.
I was able to downgrade to version 7.2.5 according to this site:

It is really easy and Netflix and Airplay are working fine again.
