Been using Android Pay a few times a day with fingerprint scanner and no issues until today. Worked in first shop and then the two shops after it asked for my PIN. Anyone else had this?

Mark.”
I thought it was meant to do that after so many transactions per day, at least contactless cards work this way too.
I've used android pay several times now albeit only in Subway and Gregg's. I did try in Wilko but for some reason it wouldn't go through, despite my debit card working just fine.
I've never tried making a payment for anything over £30 as it's not clear where accepts payments over £30 using android pay/contactless. Why they cant just have a sign next to the terminal I've no idea.
This is what Halifax say regarding having your phone awake or unlocking the phone to make payments.
"For in store payments under £30, simply wake your device and hold it near the contactless reader (no need to open the app). You’ll need to unlock your phone for payments over £30. Your device will beep or vibrate, and you'll receive a confirmation on screen to show your payment was made."

Sounds similar to the problems I had when I tried using it in WH Smiths on two occasions. I'm not sure why it refuses to work in some shops.

Indeed, if you have multiple cards then you might even wish to load the app just to check the right one is set as default, as you can't easily undo a payment everywhere (like a train gateline).”
I mostly use one card. Just countering the argument. Different people will find it convenient/inconvenient depending on what they currently do.
Mine failed In Wilko for a £34 payment, I thought maybe I three phone away to soon, the cashier showed me an error on her screen saying the contactless payment couldn't be made...

I didn't notice anything but I wouldn't be surprised. I bank with Halifax though so it would seem strange they'd block my payment as I wouldn't be able to use their app anyway.
Mine has stopped working since the two fails the other day. Android Pay asks for a PIN when scan it, but the machines ask for card entry for security reasons. Very peed off with this. I'll pop into Nationwide in the week and see what's causing this.

I noticed in Iceland yesterday, when my bill came to £42, the contactless symbol on the card reader still flashed like it was scanning for a card, but by then I had already inserted my card to do it that way as I knew it was over £30.
I emailed Amex, hoping they might notice if people kept asking for Android Pay, and they replied:
Quote: “I am afraid that we are currently not part of AndroidPay however, once we are able to support it, we will gladly notify all our Card members.
Please rest assured that we remain focused on offering our Cardmembers innovative payment solutions such as Apple Pay and Samsung Pay (when it launches later this year).”

Sounds like you may have not registered your card correctly.

Debit or credit? I think it only works with debit and Nationwide..

So, that's helpful!”
I wonder why they put Apple Pay as innovative when less people use Apple phones? Is it subsidised by Apple perhaps? I was looking forward to paying by phone as I don't like to leave my card in my wallet but it has not really taken off like it should have.
Not too impressed with Android Pay so far, before even before using it.
My ApplePay has stayed working through numerous OS updates. I decided to add Android Pay to my other phone on the weekend, the phone had a minor update of some sort overnight, now AndroidPay wants to reauthenticate my card, including another phone call to the bank...
