Agreed, I think a Muslim companion would be great, but don't make it their only defining trait or remind the audience about it every five minutes.

One of the things I really liked about Canton Delaware, who you mentioned, was that he was gay, but we only found it in passing as though it didn't matter. He was a strong gay character without needing to drive home that he was gay as though it was the only thing that mattered about him.

Because one source rumoured her and everyone else jumped on the story?. Not exactly very scientific is it?

Still who knows. Just hope to hear something soon. This forum could do with some actual news rather than endless speculation of what might be.

No more scientific than say, a gut feeling that Capaldi is telling fibs because he isn't behaving the same way Tennant and Smith did? I don't think it's implausible that Thakrar's name floating around could potentially mean something, what with the companion announcement presumably coming so soon; I know Capaldi's name was floating around a lot coming up to his announcement.

Believing him to to be truthful means believing that on this one occasion alone, the bbc is going against the norm and allowing this one actor, on a very secretive show, to suddenly talk about secret behind the scenes information. Plus, if you look on the thread that's actually about that subject, you'll see it's more than just me suggesting it might not be true.

If i'm wrong then that will be that, but for now I reserve my right to not believe everything that I hear.

Anyway, regarding the subject of this thread, this actress may well have been cast, just like many other people may have. All I'm saying is that reports saying it might be her, can only be taken with the same pinch of salt as when the media was reporting it might be Michelle keegan and other names some months ago.

That is, assuming the BBC "allowed" him to talk about it and he wasn't just opening his mouth again and spilling more than he should. It's more than just you suggesting he could be fibbing, but let's take into account one of these members has been calling everyone "mindless fanbois" over it, which says enough about seriously he can be taken.

Something along the lines of:

Nixon: This person you want to marry.... black I suppose??

Canton: Yes he is

Wasn't it?

I'd think him more professional to just spout stuff he wasn't sure he was supposed to say.

Also I have no idea what you mean about the 'mindless fanboys' comment, because I certainly haven't said anything of the sort.
