Looking forward to the second half of the series, why do Americans do this? it is so annoying, just show the whole damn series ”

Agreed. Like you say, it's not TWD, and isn't supposed to be. Different characters, different situations, different part of the time frame in the zombie apocalypse universe. I think it's kicked on from season one now our group are out on their own in the world and trying to find their way.

Ah well, at least we are both enjoying it! How long is the mid-season break for?

I am also enjoying it, i never expected it to be like TWD, and knew it would be about people's struggles and understanding of what was happening early on.

Also, it looks like August is a safe bet for it's return:

Nearly three months?! I guess that's so it finishes just as season seven of TWD starts.

But that exactly what we aren't seeing... their struggles and understanding about what is going on with the dead returning to 'life'. So far there has been nothing to suggest its happening anywhere else than the coast of america, down to Mexico, and our heroes aren't even debating it, looking for news/answers.

Season 1 brushed over most of what has actually happened in the US/World, and season 2 has almost ignored it, and only shown their struggles and worries about losing their boat to pirates, and how to get into mexico??!!!

It really hasn't delivered what I thought it would.

I will watch until the end of this series but, if it is taken to a third series, I doubt that I will watch that.

I wasn't expecting it to be like TWD but I was expecting it to be better than it is. Now that I am watching it, I think that what I would have like is a series from the point of view of people in power. TWD already does an excellent show about surviving. I would like to see what, if anything, people in power are doing to combat the infection. What are they doing to ensure mankind survives. Do they have contact with other nations. To me that would have been more interesting.

Monday's show was all over the place. In the space of one day. Nick gets up and walks to the boat, covering himself in zombie blood. Ties up Luis and brings him back. Has a shower and then goes back out to look for Travis who has walked so far in his bare feet that they are shredded. Nick covers himself in zombie blood again and finds Travis. Has a quick word and then returns to his family. Has another quick word then heads off on his own. Given that we barely saw any zombies when Travis and his son (forget his name) were out and about what is the need for Nick to keep covering himself in blood. Strange boy.

And despite the fact that he seems to think they are somehow still human and he doesn't like killing them. He seems to have no problem cutting them open to get their blood.

Personally I don't get all the negativity, I'm liking it

Sure its not perfect but it's watchable

TBF I've been watching both series back to back so maybe that's helped

Looking forward to the next part of season 2

It's not been fantastic but it's been okay. My main issue is pacing. The last two seasons had two more episodes worth of content. Cecilia was a fascinating character and the payoff of Strand's arc was poor. I feel they should have arrived with Tom alive and well, only for him to be bitten at the tail end of the episode for him to die at the end of the second or third. We could have explored the families ideology about the living dead further as actually Mexico is the perfect location for this type of faith to be explored. Unlike Hershel, Mexican catholics believe the dead are always among us etc and celebrate this with events like Day of the Dead. Their belief stems from their religion.

Also spanning stuff across 3 or 4 episodes would have meant more time to explore Daniel's story as his fall into hysteria happened over the course of like 30 minutes in running time which is frankly ridiculous. Similar could be said for Chris, though I find him irritating, I felt his "madness" was too rushed and perhaps giving him a little more time ending his mid season death, would have been more interesting.

They should get Charlie Brooker to do a British spin-off instead.

Anyone watching at US pace the show has started again, and yes it is still as bad as ever. I will watch a couple of more eps before deciding whether to bail or not, it just has not lived up to expectations.

I'll no doubt continue watching it to the end of the season, but I kind of hope they don't make a 3rd series.

Too late. Season 3 confirmed. Just because YOU don't like it, doesn't mean the people who do should be denied another season.

There ain't a lot of people that do like it though, just go to the IMDB forum, it gets slagged off something rotten.

Everyone keeps watching it though so whether it is liked is completely irrelevant when it gets the viewers.

I didn't say i didn't like it, but it's not a patch on The Walking Dead, and like it or not, it will always be compared to that.

Bit of a mixed episode and probably not the sort of slow-paced story that you want to open the second half of a season with.

On the one hand it was interesting to see how far Nick would go to survive and they did a good job of showing him being tough and resourceful, but the whole thing revolved around a series of bad/illogical decisions from him, some very contrived situations and then a bunch of 'deus ex machina' that kept saving his skin when he should have been long dead many times over.

Also, in keeping with the show's style of disjointed narrative the whole start of the episode felt weird as it didn't flow on from the last one. I thought I'd missed the restart of the season by a week, for the first few minutes.

I have to say, if not for the 'The Walking Dead' connection I'd probably have given up on this by now.
