Have to say, I'm in the group.... started watching it, as I thought we were going to see a deeper extent of societies breakdown and how people dealt with the situation of the dead returning to life.
This series (1 and so far 2) has cut far to many corners in its storytelling, and skipped so much that would have been better to see, than the weekly soap opera of the main characters.
If you look at the timeline, we are supposedly still within the first month of the initial outbreak!! Yet the situations our 'heroes' find themselves in are little different to those in the main TWD series... ie everyone out for themselves, and no-one is questioning how or why dead people are returning to life and trying to eat the living.

The episodes feature 1 or 2 decent set pieces, but overall, its just the usual characters doing stupid things, putting themselves in unnecessary peril.
