Every week people on the internet have to try and patch up FTWD plot holes.
It's terrible. |

So, that was the last episode of the series?
![]() It certainly didn't feel like a series finale. |

Still 3 left, 1 tonight and 2 next week.
So, hands up who felt sad watching Daddy Care Bear wave goodbye to Psycho Son as he was driven away in a pick-up truck by his new bestest buddies the Trigger Happy Frat Boys? Anyone? Anyone? |

If the activity on this thread is any indication of the show's popularity out there in general then I feel that the show is about to die. I saw the latest episode last night. It was okay. But if my memory serves me well there wasn't one single zombie in it was there? It wasn't awful, but it was just an episode full of talking and felt more like a soap. I am right aren't I? There was not even a sight of a zombie in the episode was there? The problem is that there is such a lot of television out there in general which is of a much higher standard of drama than this that I simply can't see it surviving. I've seen worse, but it just doesn't appear to be inspiring anybody to engage with it. It's watchable, but I'm afraid that nowadays that's a very low benchmark to aspire to. |

i think a pertinent question is 'without The Walking Dead existing beforehand would anyone still be watching this or would it have been cancelled early in the first season'?
I can't imagine many people are watching it for its own sake, it is just a placeholder until WD starts again... |

The problem is that the drama in it is so undramatic.
With the Walking Dead its strength is the drama....AND it's got zombie action. With Fear The Walking Dead its drama is around the level of a very weak Australian daytime soap.....but has little zombie action. My point is that it could still be good if the drama was compelling and even if it's a lesser production than TWD. But it's not. The drama aspect is so weak. It's so mundane and soap-like. They have a zombie invasion going on and the writers are writing about nothing of any significant consequence. It is like a daytime soap where characters are just going through the motions. It feels like the only thing that's carrying it is its brand connection to TWD. I agree with the posters above, Z Nation is fantastic, and easily fills the hole left by TWD between series. Yes, I said fantastic. Not so bad that it's good, but actually something good which works on its own merit and engages you as a viewer. it knows what it is and shamelessly embraces what it is. |

Isn't it a tad coincidental that everyone keeps pitching up at the same bloody hotel?

Not the best season finale I have ever watched, the second episode was much better but still very disappointing and frustrating, they could do so much more with this. I hope they move it out of Mexico for the next season, and thankfully some of the characters won't be back next season, i.e Chris.

The whole season has been terrible, not sure I'm going to watch next season.
bet we could edit down everything important that happened in to one episode. Way too much fluff. |

In what way?
I would say I'm glad the son bought it but it could all be a ruse. |

Very narrow focus, mostly people hating on each other. Made the walkers look pleasant.
I would say I'm glad the son bought it but it could all be a ruse. They have wasted what could have been a good premise and series and poor situations and characters. |

A bit of an improvement for the finale, at least we got some movement - I was afraid they were going to rename the show Fear The Stagnating Plot.
Still, at least Chris got his just deserts and Travis finally shook off his Dumb Dad role to become crazy Rick Grimes Psycho Dad for a bit. And Nick has transformed himself into Moses leading the crowd to the Promised Land...oh crap they've run into a bunch of Trump voters. Still, if we're back across the border next season I won't have to suffer with any more %$!*ing subtitles. It's most distracting when you're half watching the show and half checking your Twitter feed but then you have to give FTWD your full attention for a couple of minutes to read the subs. And why did they leave Strand behind? Damn, he was the most interesting character on the show. I guess next season we'll get more hotel shenanigans, at least I hope so, although I fear for them all since Travis so kindly drove through the hotel gates leaving a nice entry point for the zombie hordes. That family just love to leave a trail of destruction in their wake. |

bet we could edit down everything important that happened in to one episode. Way too much fluff. I think it did hit some high notes at the end of the penultimate episode and at the start of the finale. When they found those two arseholes who turned up at the hotel and found out that they killed Chris, and then the dad killed them and then things played out the way that they did. I thought all that was good, and showed that the show has potential. But it's just not good enough to have only one or two situations like that per series. I can't see how the series can sustain itself with only one or two high stakes dramatic developments per series. And the mum and the daughter were seriously thinking about ejecting the dad from the hotel? Really? Come on now. It's quite something that at the end of series one most people on here were thinking that Strand is a great character and could salvage the second series. After his boyfriend died near the start of series two he's been practically non-existent, and for the last few episodes he's been practically invisible since he got stabbed. The way things stand right now there's nothing that guarantees that Strand will be back at all if they decide to attempt a third series. |

Chris might not even be dead, they did it in such a weird way I find it hard to believe.

What did shock me though; the two guys were sleeping in the back of the truck with no support or security, Chris crashed the vehicle and it rolled. Surely the two guys in the back would have been flung that far and hard that they should have suffered a lot more than a mere dislocated shoulder. |

Watched the final 4 shows. Wow, how dull was all that?
I think I'm done with this series. I still don't care for the characters and they've not listened to the critics and haven't introduced anyone new that's any better (or appears to be moving into S3) I'm always going to be frustrated at how much they wasted this opportunity to show the start of the outbreak. It feels like someone decided to scrap the original plans and just rush as fast as possible into full on zombie/bad people mode. There isn't a natural progression. They have huge plot holes and somehow they've all pretty much found that bloody hotel. (How is it that druggie son seemed to spend an entire episode or more walking aimlessly and only ended up about 15 mins from that hotel?) Oh and another sign is that I can't ever remember the characters names. I'd be very surprised if this returns after s3 unless they majorly reboot and bring in some relatable characters. |

It's all the moralising that gets me. That's 9 to 5'ers for you.
Zombie apocalypse and you have to hold a meeting and make rules about how you are going to deal with it. It might have been a good idea to use an ordinary family but they could have used one that wasn't so boring. |
