I am enjoying FTWD. It's great to have something to keep one's interest while waiting for the main feature, so to speak. Rather perversely I quite like watching something no one else is. I think it might have been interesting for the bad son to have developed his villainous behaviour rather than being killed, but the characters are developing quite nicely I think.

Half of it was on a bloody boat. Could have done away with most of the first half of the series.

I think it did hit some high notes at the end of the penultimate episode and at the start of the finale. When they found those two arseholes who turned up at the hotel and found out that they killed Chris, and then the dad killed them and then things played out the way that they did.
I thought all that was good, and showed that the show has potential. But it's just not good enough to have only one or two situations like that per series. I can't see how the series can sustain itself with only one or two high stakes dramatic developments per series.

And the mum and the daughter were seriously thinking about ejecting the dad from the hotel? Really? Come on now.

It's quite something that at the end of series one most people on here were thinking that Strand is a great character and could salvage the second series. After his boyfriend died near the start of series two he's been practically non-existent, and for the last few episodes he's been practically invisible since he got stabbed.
The way things stand right now there's nothing that guarantees that Strand will be back at all if they decide to attempt a third series.
Strand is back next series and the plan is to follow the different groups the way the have done in The Walking Dead.

They like the hotel location and think it has potential, so Strand's story will follow from there. Then they will also follow the stories of Travis' group, Nick's group and Ophelia. They may or may not meet up at some point along the way.

I am loving the development of Nick, Travis, and my fave is Strand so damn cool, Travis went all Rick on us, it was fantastic to see this deeply moral man lose all of them and turn into the thing that he loathed, brill stuff. looking forward to series 3, hope we see lots more of Strand and more of the new Travis.

I agree. It has taken a long long time for them to get the momentum going but I hope they spend the time between series making sure that it continues at this pace rather than the watching paint dry pace of series 1 and first part of series 2.

I like Nick, Strand and the new Travis. I like the others who are left too.

I was going to give series 3 a miss but it looks like it has some potential now.

I nearly gave up with season 2 of TWD, I found it plodding, and the Rick/Shane/Lori triangle boring, but I am so glad that I kept on watching, I feel the same about FTWD now, I gave it a chance and I am now getting something back from it.

I gave up with this midway through series 2. I just felt it was going nowhere and there isn't a single character I actually care about.

I'm about to do the same, i have about 5 episodes i haven't seen yet and i can't be bothered to watch them. As you say there are no characters that are actually likeable, in fact they are all as boring as hell.

I would continue if i were you, i was sooo bored with the first half of the season but despite the sometimes ludicrous plots and soap-opera acting I have really enjoyed the last couple of episodes, hopefully it will continue more in this vein next season.

The last 4 are far better and give a little hope for S3 but boy was it hard getting through the first 4 of part 2.

TWD in 2 weeks thank god! 23 OCT.

I thought it ended very well. It left me wondering though, The 'refugee camp' is for Americans only? They see Nick and Co coming and they don't want Mexicans etc crossing into the border. What they do with Nick and Luciana is something I look forward too. I suppose they may bump into Ruben Blades onscreen daughter. While I mention him what happened to his character?

My only gripe with the programme is the lack of subtitles. Its hard enough understanding Americans talk, Yet having a cast full of exported people putting on an accent is ear straining. The TWD have subtitles, granted its aired on FOX, But AMC need to get their asses into gear and put subtitles on not just for people like me, but hard of hearing.

That was it, last episode?

Hmm, oh well back to avoiding all the trailers for The Walking Dead that have been jumping out of the screen lately.

I've enjoyed the second half of season 2 after nearly giving up on the first half.

I just wish that with FTWD they had concentrated more on the initial outbreak of the virus instead of going full on collapse of civilisation in the blink of an eye. It's basically just TWD in a different location. It could have been so much more.

I forgot how much i hated these characters!
Started watching the season 2 rerun. There should have been far more angst (or worn down fear) about leaving a boat load of people stranded with no resources instead of 'we'd like to help them but the mean man controlling the boat doesn't want to so ok then.' Grrr...
