That's what i meant by when its available. Obviously it's not gonna download until they've actually aired but even after they aired it didn't automatically download them.

Yes, that's what I was trying to say earlier too!
It doesn't work like a series link.

Sky Q is not fit for purpose
Sky Q fails every single day and requires daily reboots. Therefore:
The Sale of Goods Act requires all goods to be: as described of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose If they're not, the retailer is in breach of contract, giving rise to a claim under the Sale of Goods Act |

My Sky Q has been faultless since the launch as has both of my neighbours
You must have a faulty box if its doing it every day |

Only had to reboot my silver box once in months which I think is OK. Mini box has going dead issues but there is a solution in the other thread I started which I admit I haven't tried yet as haven't used the mini much of late.
I do occasionally get no signal to the TV from the silver box but turning off and on again seems to sort this rather than a full boot. Only ever one failed recording too which was annoying as it was the BTCC finale and I got half of race 1. Bah. I have a BT freeview PVR for backup but the kids had pulled the aerial out of the back. Brilliant. Other than that, recording has been faultless. |

I won't put full details here (there's a new thread with all that info) but in 3 weeks, 2 boxes. First one exhibited sound drop outs (live, recording or downloaded) whilst continuing picture. Replaced with 2nd box. Exhibited same sound drops but crashes sometimes to a green or purple screen. Remote and standby button become unresponsive so changing channel is impossible. Have to reboot by pulling power cord out.
Along with very poor (and rude customer service), my trust in Sky Q has been diminished some what. Compared to all Sky+HD setups I've seen, none of them have been this bad. |

Apart from 1 reset of the Mini needed the day after install my Sky Q setup has been without issue for the most part. The only slight issue was due to having WiiU in the house which caused some interference with the Mini while both were on at the same time due the 5ghz channel the WiiU gamepad is fixed at, changing the Sky Q 5ghz channel fixed the interference with the Mini but still caused glitching on the gamepad.
During the install the Sky guy noticed the WiiU so booked in for a hardwire which was done yesterday and took about 10-15mins to run a Cat-5 cable from the Silver box to the Mini box so now 5ghz has been disabled. Much better now without having a 7 year old complaining he can't play his games while the Mini is being used. Just out of interest does anyone know if there's a specific reason why all setup instructions say the pink end of the HDMI cable goes into the box and the black end into TV? I only ask as noticed the installer originally plugged in the other way around so just wondered if there was a reason behind the pink and black ends? |

I think that the pink end goes into the sky q box because they have colour coded all the connections on the rear panel of the sky q box and the hdmi one is pink.
But it won't matter. https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=sk...70gOZKw8AJM%3A |

Anyone get weird pause / rewind /ff bevaviour sometimes, especially with longer recordings? Seems to happen if I ever try to record F1 and watch later. Usual one is to become unresponsive and then start skipping right to the end of the show, which is handy. Not sure if it's the bluetooth remote or the box itself.

I just gave up on it and use the manual one, far, far better, though it is a bit small, just wish it was more like my Sky+ one in design and shape, fitted my hand much better |

I prefer the manual one too but the box is in a cupboard which is preferable. Suppose I'll have to put it up on top with the hifi.

At the weekend i recorded ManU Arsenal, and started watching about 10 minutes after kick off, with a bit of fast forwarding as I watched, i soon caught up, when it dropped the box onto the live channel, it said press select to watch in UHD, which I did, so don't know if this is a new way of doing it, it's always been like that, or because i dropped into the channel from a recording. |

SkyQ installed yesterday , 2TB and a mini box, so far I am very underwhelmed , picture on my new Panasonic 58" 4K TV is nothing to get excited about, downloaded The Martian in UHD and it seems to be no better than HD , TV is setup , HDMI in correct position but it's nothing special IMPO!
