The year is 2016 and that can only mean one thing…the iPhone 7 release date is drawing ever closer. September should bring with it Apple’s new smartphone device and it needs to give current customers a reason to upgrade.

So what should we expect to see? Find out below.

Which is as it always is! Apple probably won't have finalised the design decisions yet.

iPhone is the single biggest reason why most consumers are opting out of 2 year contracts these days. People like having a new iPhone every year. Personally I can't wait to upgrade my iPhone 6s Plus in September. The 7 will have a new design, a revolutionary new dual camera system, and potentially a Pro model with 256GB of onboard storage. There's a lot to be excited about.

I agree. I'm also going to be upgrading my 6S plus and I'll be getting the pro model if it exists. The non S years usually bring the biggest updates too. So it will be exciting this year coupled with iOS 10, and new major OS updates for the Mac, Apple TV and Apple Watch.

I think the non-S years are about the look and feel, and the S years are about performance. The A9 CPU in the 6S/6Splus is insanely fast for a dual core unit ; massive jump over the iPhone 5S, and 6 CPUs. I'm more inclined to wait for 7s myself!
