Can't open new Samsung TV remote!
I'm trying to put some batteries into the remote of the Samsung UE40H6400.
The 'Smart TV remote' was fine, just opened it as normal and popped the batteries in. The actual TV remote is impossible to get open, the instructions simply say to press the button on the bottom and slide it open with the grips at the top- but it doesn't budge. I don't want to try and force it as if it breaks they'll probably say it's my fault and not replace it. Does anybody know what I'm doing wrong? I'll try and see if there's a picture of it on the net as I don't have a camera at hand. Many thanks. Edit: This is it: https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=sa...OX65RnLbY5M%3A Unfortunately, there isn't any pictures of the rear where the problem is. Not sure if all Samsung TV's are standard. It's a 2014 model. |

It appears to be the same remote on my Samsumg 4K set

Yep, there's a circular ident with a triangle on it, which is pointing towards the way that the cover should slide out. Am I supposed to be pushing it in (it does go slightly in when I do) and upwards at the same time? If so, it doesn't budge! |

Just spoken to Samsung via live chat.
They wanted me to send my email receipt and a technical person will call me within 48 hours. In the meantime, she explained that I can set up the TV with the Smart remote as it creates an on screen keyboard. I had assumed that this was to operate the Smart TV features

If you look at my other thread, you'll see that I might have to send the whole thing back anyway I bought this set as I thought that Samsung were one of the better makes, unless I've just been unlucky. Ihave not logged on this year but this thread caused me to try my 2 Samsung remotes and yes the maine requires a very heavy button press to open whereas the other Heavy remote slides off easily..
The batteries on Main remote are AAA but those ON Banana remote are AA.. |

It must have been the remote that was faulty.
The new one that I received came off in seconds! |
