i`m fine with egg, it will be the mycoprotein itself, it`s not an uncommon allergy and the reaction is really violent and painful [stomach cramps worse than labour pains and projectile vomiting every 15 minutes or so for a few hours coupled with a burning face].

there ought to be a warning on the packet so you would at least know what was happening.

ironically it was fake chicken

It now looks like Morrisons have dropped veggie burgers as well as Sainsbury's.

Does anyone know what's going on?

Both stores sell lots of other meat free products, just not burgers.

I was in Morrisons today and they had a choice of about six different types. I bought some of their Indian Spiced Quarter Pounders, although I haven't tried them yet. From memory they had two other own-brand varieties, plus at least two different Linda McCartney ones and at least one from Quorn. I think there was even another type from a manufacturer I hadn't heard of before.

I find Tesco to be the worst when it comes to stocking vegetarian foods.

Morrisons used to sell own-brand meat-free burgers in boxes of six. Last time I went to buy some they weren't in stock, there was no ticket in the cabinet and they aren't on Morrisons' web site either. It looks like they've delisted them.

Tesco still lists them online: http://www.tesco.com/groceries/produ.../?id=254972122 but I don't want to drive to Tesco when I've got Sainsbury and Morrisons within walking distance. It's just rather strange that two major supermarket chains have delisted a staple frozen vegetarian product yet stock all sorts of niche ones (eg veggie kievs or Swedish style balls, whatever they are).
