Forget 'killman' Hillman and Maya's Mad monday.
Ian Mckellans debut on Sunday has got to be the highlight of Corrie for me in the last few years.
When i heard they had managed to cast him i was overwhelmed and i still cant get my head around the fact that he will pop up in weatherfeild very soon.
Perfect, perfect casting. i am so excited lol.

anyone else looking forward to this?

I already said on the This Morning thread that I loved the clip they showed with him in it today that's from Wednesday's episode

I'm certainly looking forward to it. There's nothing else going on in Corrie that remotely interests me at the moment. I hate all the storylines.

I wonder if his episodes are spread out. If they aren't he'll literally be in for 2 weeks - 10 episodes, so if they're spread out ... obviously, it'll be longer!

At least he will be working with some of the Street's finest actors instead of any of the young ones

I hear he has an affair with tracy and she has another child who will be very precious to her[/LMAO].

It would follow current storylines any way and would add a comedy tracy loves steve but has gandalfs baby cliff hanger rofl

And apart from anything else you can't really compare a storyline that will last about 2 weeks with one that lasted about 2 years!

It' a definite coup for the street having a knight of the realm making an appearance
Is he the first "sir" to be on Corrie?

As much as I love Cilla, I don't want her to return now! I want Chesney to stay with the Croppers forever!!!

I'm so looking forward to Sir Ian's appearance's! I don't think it's anywhere near as major as Hillman though. Although I'm looking forward to it much more, I have to admit, as I wasn't really into the Hillman storyline!

It's funny to think that The Book Club storyline started off as just a minor side storyline and it ended up evolving into something much bigger, I love it!

It would be so funny if they started reading Lord of the Rings, I hope they manage to put that in as it would be really funny and such a great joke!

i agree The Croppers and Chesney work very well and I like then all together, but Cilla is such a great character, she has to return and cause havoc!

William Roache is an OBE or CBE or MBE - never know which or what the difference is, but none of them are Knighthoods, so he is not a Sir.

Sir Cliff Richard appeared in the background in the pub once.

Sir Norman Wisdom appeared in a rather cringe inducing cameo last year.

Bill Roache got an MBE for staying in Corrie so long (you get honours for nowt these days!)

Liz Dawn got an MBE for her charity work.

I looked Liz up on the imdb to check which honour she got and was amused to see someone had posted on there that Liz was actress Julie Dawn Cole's mother! Lol!
Just goes to show anyone can post anything on that site!

Liz does have a daughter, Julie, the youngest of her 4 kids, who was born in 1968.

Julie Dawn Cole was born to her actual parents in 1957! (the year Liz Dawn got married and a year before her son was born!)

Never believe all you read on the imdb!
