I have a sim only iphone with Orange for £6.38 a month after discount if I stay within plan(1000mins,unltd texts and 250mb) and a sim for wife for £12.50 (500mins,unltd texts,250mb) this included a GalaxyS3 mini which is now 2years old and contract time up.I asked them for more data for same price and EE said couldnt do anything,in fact the iphone sim would be phased out and we would have to go to EE and offered us a tariff of 500 mins each 500mb and unltd texts + a tablet and 2Gb for £23,2 years contract and no magic numbers.
Has anyone heard this will be discontinued,I am thinking of a payg sim for wife, last month she used 88 mins and about 250 texts no data.
Was thinking of 3 network until I saw the bad press on here, anybody got any suggestions.

You cannot upgrade on an Orange plan anymore, EE don't offer it. Your only option is to upgrade to an EE plan. This has been the case for around a year now, if not longer. Simply because EE do not want to continue paying licensing fees for using the Orange and T-Mobile brands.

BT Mobile, uses EE but cheaper.

Orange/T-Mobile plans were phased out a year ago.

Based on your wife's usage, a Three pay as you go sim sounds like a sensible option. Why don't you get one and try it out before you leave your current network? You can also get decent deals from Giffgaff and TalkMobile and iD Mobile.

FreedomPop might enough for your wife too, she could end up paying £0 a month!

I wouldn't recommend FreedomPop as a primary sim, it's quite unreliable and only allows calls to 01 and 02 numbers. In my testing it also frequently doesn't allow calling out at all for hours on end.

It's ok for a second phone and you understand you are basically a beta tester for them.

Looks likely to go with talkmobile 100mins5000 texts and 200mb for £5 on a 12 month contract using Vodafone that we get good local coverage
For £7.50 we can have 1000mins 5000 texts and 2Gb which might be better for holidays when she might use more

Looking into use in France and Holland although she could have my phone abroad with Ee bolt on

Thanks all for the advice ☺
