I only pick up the odd bargain Nook book or series I want to try out. My fav's I still buy in paper or hard back.

Its a shame that they can't be arsed to give us a quick update to allow it to connect and buy from the Sainsbury store. Having to do manual transfer won't be a major pain, but a firmware update would have been a nice leaving present from them.

This perhaps shows though that we need to wary in a digital world as the provider can up sticks and leave you stranded if they want.

Nook closing UK ebook store

It's unfortunate to see this but in the British ebook market they've just been crowded out because of the total dominance of Amazon.

I had an email this morning to kick off the transfer to Sainsbury's process - I only have 20 or so ebooks on the Nook, so hopefully all be transfer ok.

Its given me a £5 voucher code just for starting the transfer, so will get something else to read with that

Shame is that I will now have to physically plug the reader in to transfer books, and they are pushing Adobe Digital Editions as the way to transfer the books.

Ridiculously long winded way of buying ebooks from Sainburys and installing them on the Nook in the instructions on the Sainsburys site, and it didn't work for me anyway, here is a simpler way:

You still need to get an Adobe ID and download the Adobe Digital Editions software for your PC, so do that first and also authorise your PC and Nook.

Then download the ACSM files from your library on the Sainsburys site.

Then drag the ACSM files into Adobe Digital Editions and the book will appear as an epub file in the My Digital Editions folder in My Documents, then just copy it across to your Nook.

After that all you will need to do in future is download the ACSM file, open Adobe Digital Editions, drag the file into ADE then plug your Nook into your PC and copy it across from My Documents.
