Nobody was talking about arrests, it was completely plucked out of thin air.

His point is, WHEN (not if) liverpool fans sing about Munich at their next meeting, you will not see 10,000 away fans arrested and put into the cells.

You will see, well, zero.
If you want to dig a club out, those Chelsea racists on the train who were identified are an example of how a minority can be dealt with if the will's there. 10,000 fans don't trot out this garbage - I'd be surprised if it's 1,000. Even if they single nut and punish a few, it'll send out a clear message to the other muppets. We're taking the really extreme stuff here, not the more puerile, tribal mud-slinging.

Another pen where you can see why it was given but again the player made the most of it.

Palace deserved to win anyway.

Did anyone say people should be arrested? Only you and your best buddy seemed to mention arrests.

Anyone who spouts abuse which is against the Law deserved arresting. The other stuff which is just distasteful and crude should be policed by the fans themselves.
What if you find it offensive and someone else doesn't? What makes you think you get to police what people say?

Ok, songs about Hillborough are fine. All football should just be about visceral hatred and mocking people who died in disasters, ok? Can I be a keyboard tough guy too?

City are to controlling this game in the way they really should. Norwich are in with a chance of sneaking it.

Considering the money city have spent they look very ordinary

They just look like a remarkably complacent team. With the money that's been put in over the years, they should be dominating league seasons but for the two they've won they've scraped across the finish line after someone else has blown it, and for the other seasons they've looked miles off the pace.

Norwich maybe set for a vital point - for once their defence has looked solid.

Both Manchester sides need a fair bit of work, if either of them want to be at the top once again.

Yes, I agree with you, City have for all of the money spent, never dominated a league season, or made a season theirs, they have always just taken advantage of others mistakes (or slips).

It will be interesting to see what Pep does with them next season.

Dreadful game.

Leicester will win the league by default at this rate.

Yaya is a certain to leave you would imagine, and Aguero is already making noises about wanting to leave sooner rather than later, so they could be in for a bit of an overhaul.

City haven't won back to back games in the league since October apparently, that is crazy and very poor.

Leicester look up for it, others not so much.

Think city need to make sure about top 4 rather than any ideas about winning the league now

I think he has a bigger job at hand than people initially anticipated. They're in need of a rebuild I think - they've had a poor few transfer windows on the bounce and are still relying on the top players from the 2011/12 season. Toure and arguably Silva are past it.

Silva is long past his best now too, a shadow of the player he used to be for them.

Absolutely agree, Iv said the same before. They can thrash teams (they carry on trying to score at 3-0 where other teams play down time) but next game they don't turn up. Despite all the success I would be a touch disappointed as a City fan. The Liverpool defeat after the cup final win was very very poor and just sums City up imo.

The scene is set though, Guardiola and a bottomless pit of money -probably the highest expectation there has ever been in the Premier League.

As a Utd fan I hope it proves tough despite the money he will have at his disposal.

And to add to Guardiola's troubles, across the city Van Gaal's three year plan is working out just fine as is his style of play. At least this is the deluded drivel attributed to Van Gaal by the Guardian and the BBC; it may be they misheard as the laughter erupted when he started babbling.

He's taking the piss isn't he? Hopefully he'll be out on his arse at the end of the season.

I think that pretty much puts paid to City's league chances though I still have little doubt they'll get top 4.

A Leicester Spurs two horse race for me (Leicester firmly in the driving seat)

What a refreshing season. Fairytale stuff

I hope you are right. I firmly believe the Premier League needs a United playing in the style to which we have all grown accustomed, setting the standard for others. The opposite of what Van Gaal's team have been doing this season.

Surely not. The guardiola announcement was months later than that.
