I was just going on your first paragraph, can't listen to the clip itself at the moment.
I think having the tussling ironed out universally is a massive pipe dream and will never happen, a zero tolerance campaign would see defenders terrified to make what are considered perfectly legal challenges and referees too trigger happy at the same time. |

Yes, but "buying" a penalty (or free kick) is almost considered legitimate these days, you see it every week. Forgetting the hand on the shoulder, which was the lightest of touches, there was contact when Vardy crossed in front of Ogbonna. Running at pace that contact would have been enough to justify Vardy going down.
You can argue it was gamesmanship, and no doubt Vardy knew what he was doing, but I can't see how it deserved a yellow card. It shouldn't have been a penalty to Leicester either, I just think the referee should have waved play-on and told Vardy that he knew what he was up to. |

Doesn't matter how harsh the first yellow was (and Sky commentary suggested it was a cumulative award rather than for that offence in isolation), but Vardy was on a yellow, so what on earth was he thinking of wrapping his leg round the defenders legs and throwing himself to the floor. It was an act of utter stupidity, compounded by his rant at being caught out. What a f*****ng muppet.
The season now probably comes down to whether Moss makes anything of it in his report. If he doesn't Vardy misses Swansea next Sunday [probable home win anyway tbh] and then returns for the last three v ManU, Everton & Chelsea. If Moss does include it Spurs have a massive advantage thrown their way. Punish the player not the team or the fans; I'm pretty angry at Vardy at the mo for his stupidity & his petulance, which could cost them big. ) Quote:
I have no issue with either of Vardy's yellows. .
Spurs and Leicester fans are hardly going to be truly objective, hence asking in the neutral thread

As for the zero tolerance (my expression, but I think it is where Mabbutt was going) campaign, I agree it will not happen, just as the judgement of officials is unlikely to improve without significant changes. |

Looks like Jamie Vardy might have his ban increased as the FA have just charged him with improper conduct for berating Jon Moss after his red card.

Must have been pretty bad as most players have sort of row with the ref when sent off..

Not Vardy's finest hour, but he has a hell of a lot of credit in the bank this season. I expect Mahrez will step in and slot home a few goals while Vardy is having an enforced rest.

People will make a big deal of it but I don't think it's a disaster he could just as easily have gotten injured if he didn't get sent off Kante, mahrez and one of the centre backs would be a bigger loss imo |

and Schmeichel- a bit of an unsung hero but has performed excellently
with 4 games left and being able to afford at least 2 draws, a striker missing isn't as detrimental as it might be earlier in the season |

It's a little worrying when a relatively oldschool centre back is encouraging forwards to throw themselves to the ground if they're so much as touched.

Fine goal from Kane after he made a mess of his first chance. Spurs playing like the class side they have been all season.

Apparently Jack Wilshere has picked up (or may have picked up) an injury during an U21s game. There goes my hopes of him going to the Euros.

Kane and Alli already in the wars; this could be a costly match for Spurs if the referee doesn't keep control.
Impossible to exaggerate the contrast between the incisive creative attacking form Spurs and the hesitant almost clueless effort from Stoke. Whatever plan Hughes thinks his team are playing to, he badly needs to change it. |

Aguero is still a danger though |

Yes, an injured player really should be nowhere near the England team, but if not injured he should. But we've been over this many times already and I have no interest in going over it with you again. Let it go.

From a selfish point of view I'm delighted as I clear 300 quid if he is top scorer and with vardy and hopefully an increased suspension.

How did Eriksen not score? Had to put that in.
