I don't think anyone has written them off but, as Ranieri said, the fact it's Leicester City in the lead is why people are still very much open to the idea that they may be caught. You can't have the 5000/1 'wouldn't it be a fairytale' stuff without also having the distinct feeling that things could all fall apart because this isn't the kind of team that is usually in this position.

Liverpool had the league won too when Chelsea fielded a reserve team against them at Anfield 14

I can see Mahrez being moved up front alright playing just off Ulloa, switching him further forward was the winning of a few games this season

Nah, different situation. Liverpool haven't been great this season but they've clearly been improving under Klopp and that game was always going to be tricky. Liverpool had won 3 of 4 before that (including hammering City). Their recent successful run in the Europa shows they're a strange animal.

I'm going purely on form, Spurs have been absolutely superb in their past two games, thrashing United and Stoke away, in games that they needed to win. Chelsea meanwhile have been abject (one win in five, and that was against Villa, and two defeats on the bounce).

Thing is they only needed to draw that game, then with their final remaining games Crystal Palace (A), Newcastle (H), two wins would have seen them lift the title, it was still in their own hands as long as they didn't lose to Chelsea.

Gerrard's slip proved to be so costly, Chelsea weren't even looking like scoring up till that point.

But that chelsea team at Liv 2014 had far more fight about them than the one i saw lose 3-0 at home to City last Saturday evening. The only thing i would say is chelsea very much looked interested with the ball and in oppositions final 3rd (surprised they didnt score) but without the ball they looked totally disinterested and spineless.

I disagree with the fight bit to tell the truth, I honestly think they came to anfield, rolled over from kick off and allowed Liverpool get their draw, till Gerrard handed them the goal

It's a funny game. They might have one more push v spurs.

That's what I mean chelsea pretty much offered them a draw on a plate and they couldn't take it

I think spurs' main regret may end up being not seeing off ten man arsenal

Anyone know when the decision on Vardy's naughty behaviour is announced?

Chelsea v Spurs has draw written all over it to me. Like I said in the battle for top 6 thread, if there's one game Chelsea will show up for it's that one to put a dent in Spurs' title hopes..

I know that this was a fad, or a term that was around a few years ago, but would Leicester be a "moneyball" team?

I think Moneyball refers more to scientific innovation than an unlikely success story, although I imagine it's more a catch-all term nowadays so probably will.

In a hypothetical world, if Kane were to be available, what sort of figures would he be going for? £50 million, or more?

Spurs don't sell for cheap, especially a player like Harry Kane, add in the new TV deal and there's no way he's ever going for £50m.

His real value is about 30 million, but you have to pay English tax and levy tax on top of that.

So to hypothetically sign him as a pure transfer fee never mind the add ons for a moment), would you get much change from £100 million?

I don't know, probably not, I guess...

In other news, turns out the Wilshere thing was just an injury scare, but he's still fine, and went on to score for the U21s, so my Wilshere for England dream is still on!

Bet leicslad is gutted he quit the forum when he did, what with Vardy's banning and Spurs going from strength to strength.

It would be a bit of irony if he was not here if Spurs did win the league!

Whereas i disagree with your view and stand by my original comment that Chelsea showed a lot of fight at Anfield in 2014. No they didn't play well, didn't have their 1st choice defence and didn't select some players due to upcoming Champs League semi final. But they went to Anfield to get a result and put in a lot of effort to do so, look at mourinho after 2nd goal.

bit different from the spineless team that lost 3-0 home to City saturday.

Shocking decision at St James Park, Aguero clearly offside for the opening goal.

I missed it, should have checked kick off time

With Chelsea in 2014 though it was Mourinho, he does like to get a result against us, even if Chelsea themselves didn't have much to play for, and if he could've ruined our title run he would, and he did. Maybe he'd have been okay with a draw but once Chelsea went up he wasn't going to let it slip (sorry Stevie).

City currently the same number of points behind Spurs as Spurs are behind Leicester. So who is coming for who?

Amazing goal for Newcastle 1-1
