I wouldn't have Sturridge as one of the first names on the England team sheet, to do so would presumably mean dropping one of either Vardy and Kane, and neither deserve to be dropped.
Meanwhile, Lescott shows in both of Southampton's goals that when the burden of struggling for premier league status is lifted from his shoulders, he is still useless. |

Fair play to Klopp. He keeps getting the results no matter what is thrown at him.
This summer transfer window is going to break all sorts of records I would imagine. Can't wait to see who Pochettino, Klopp, Guardiola, Conte, Mourinho?, Wenger (lol), and Ranieri buy in for next season.

Deserve has nothing to do with it, it is about picking your strongest team. I would start with Sturridge and Kane, with Vardy on the bench.

Fair enough, I would have it the other way round, with Sturridge on the bench.
However, it is great to have to make such choices; Hodgson is very fortunate. |

Poor goalkeeping by Mignolet lets Newcastle back in the game.

Yes, it was a horrible misjudgement over an average cross which led to Newcastle's goal. And almost immediately after Newcastle make a mess of a very good chance to equalise. Thanks to Mignolet and Wijnaldum (on as substitute) this is now a contest.
And there we have it, 2-2! |

Crazy game, Liverpool were so superior in the first half it was embarrassing; now I couldn't call it, any outcome is possible. Good entertainment.

A top class goalie must surely be on Klopp's list for the summer. Mignolet is simply not good enough for a team who want to be challenging for a top four place if not higher.

Because it protects his value, might raise his confidence, who knows? Doesn't mean he's secured, or that Klopp won't change his mind when a better option becomes available. Klopp won't accept weak links in his squad, if he doesn't think Mignolet can improve to the level he wants he'll do something about it.

I can't think of too many players off of the top of my head, that have signed such long-term deals only to be sold pretty soon afterwards, or the following summer window. |

Well Klopp's not an idiot, he won't keep a goalkeeper around if he doesn't trust him or think he's a liability, contracts don't mean all that much in football anymore. If a player wants to go or the club wants the player to go the contract is only a minor distraction. You'll find that out yourself this summer if De Gea leaves you.

Since spurs win on Monday night, Liverpool, Chelsea and city have all hit the opposition for 4
Is a lot of the fawning over their performance justified or was it an easy win over a team in holiday mode? |

Should've scored that. Quote:

Is a lot of the fawning over their performance justified or was it an easy win over a team in holiday mode? It was faultless and a triumph in coaching. BYou can only beat what's in front of you. But let's not forget that Spurs needed almost 70 minutes to break down United, and despite looking comfortable against Stoke, it took a while for them to get a second. Patient approach can go either way. |

Lukaku's first touch seems to have deserted him so far!
