Guardiola wanted a new challenge.

He has a monumental task awaiting him.

City are a strange side somehom in the champions league semi yet in the majority of away games they look absolutely dire.

I think this city squad needs a complete overhaul

I can see Southampton being raided for players again in the summer .

Tadic, mane, wanyama, van dyk even Forster too

Yet they keep producing them are a very much a top 8 side

Makes you wonder how they kept a clean sheet against Real

City look like they are going to concede everytime Southampton attack

There is a huge difference between the two infringements.

One doesn't run the risk of doing serious damage to an opponents face.

A ref doesn't send someone off for violent conduct for a hair pull. An elbow however is violent conduct and Fellaini should be punished.

When a player has a reputation for diving you see refs take that into account.

Fellaini has been reputation for elbowing players yet amazingly refs and linesman continue to miss his violence. How many times must he do it before an official takes action.

Pulling someone's hair isn't dangerous play so I can't see any action being taken against Huth. Irrespective of the fact it was retaliation, Fellaini can't keep swinging his elbows about - he's a serial offender.

Deserved hat trick for Mane, the City defence has just not been able to handle him from the first whistle.

4-1 and there's still 22 minutes to play.

Could be City's biggest defeat for a long time

Can see Saints getting 6 here

By "producing" do you mean buying them from other teams?

Leaves the door still slightly ajar for United to get in to the top 4 if they can win their game in hand, although that's against West Ham who can make the top 4 themselves.

Not really - they've changed three defenders, one of them being Kompany. Add Southampton's work rate and pace to the mix and you've got your answer.

Brilliant from Iheanacho.

The only City player to come out of this match with any sort of credit whatsoever.

75 minutes gone: "That's the first time I have seen Wilfried Bony run", (Andy Townsend)

78 minutes Iheanacho scores a screamer.

Certainly has an impressive scoring record!

Mane is showing good form again just in time for the transfer window..

That's a fair point but aren't the midfield supposed to help out as well

Kompany and his fitness is a huge question mark for next season, can you really be going into that relying on him??

Those Man City centre backs cost £60m between them.

How much would they get for them now?

Some huge level of depreciation I think!
