I've no idea why Michael Oliver was getting criticised by the texters and tweeters on 5 Live, he refeereed it pretty well, got most of the contentious decisions spot on and those he may not have done, was looking instead at the ball where he should have.

Lingard, Mahrez and Gray all seemed to go down a little easy, Drinkwater's cards were right and the penalty would've been complete guess work, it was less than a cm in it.

Rooney was a little fortunate to stay on though. Fellaini and Huth should have no complaints if they are both banned but if any referee saw that, then they were not watching the match.

Schmeicel was brilliant as an aside.

I also don't think it's a given that normal service will resume next season either.

Man united have been in steady decline last few years , Chelsea have had a massive decline and it may be a gradual climb back to the top if at all, city's squad is aging, Arsenal are just Arsenal.

Liverpool really not sure if real top players will sign for them and not sure how they get out of their 7th place type level next season.

Spurs have the best squad and probably the best scouting network and for me will be the team to beat next season”

Tottenham have got more chance of winning the league this season than next season.

Such a difference of performance between Wes Morgan and Swansea's captain a few days ago gifting Leicester that crucial goal .

Spurs and West Ham to be fighting for the title this time next year?

It's still hard to decide if it's the manager or players who are responsible for this poor PL campaign, probably abit of both.”

It's good to hear an opinion from a City fan on this.

I just disagreed completely with the writing off of City.

You have a good squad, it just isn't working under Pellegrini, in the same way United aren't working under Van Gaal.

We could all sit here and criticise United's squad, but what would be the point?

For a few years part of City's problems have been their reliance on a few individuals, having a bit of a thin squad. Joe Hart, Kompany, Toure, Silva and Aguero is an amazing spine, but it's been plagued by injuries, and Toure at least has seen his best days, and Silva may also be on his way out, but then there might be some life in him yet next season under Guardiola. He's been a bit unlucky with injuries this season as well.

But they've got a good group there, with Guardiola and some improvements with money that they have plenty of they should become a force again next season. They just need to be less reliant on the injury prone Kompany and Aguero.

I fully agree with the premise that they rely on individuals, and having a thin squad, this reliance I think has come at a cost, as the rest of the squad has not really been improved all that much (De Bruyne excepted) frothed spine of 2012.

There is plenty of work to be done there, if they wish to get back to the top of the league.
This will by far, be Guardiola's biggest task in management.

Do think West Ham will be closer still next season not completely out of top 4 running yet although they are likely to be in the Europa league next season

Man Uniteds team and squad are the most workmanlike compared to the other big4 or 5. They will be a team who is competing for places 4th and below next season.

Arsenal are the other team who are in trouble, but they have better technical players than Manchester United.

As Leicester and West Ham have shown this season and Southampton and others as well over the last couple of years, these teams have the belief to be able to go to the homes of the big teams and play for a win. Man United have a long time in the wilderness without wholesale changes.

Hopefully it's not too long for these changes , a few weeks maybe?

Journalists yesterday saying that there had been no talks with Mourniho thus far.

Frankly, both Liverpool and City are looking ragged right now purely due to the volume of matches they have had - Liverpool will have had 59 minimum, and I believe City is about the same, maybe one more. The former has just played 3 matches in the space of a week, still has at least one Euro match to play, plus catch up in the league, it's a lot for a squad which was/is hounded by injuries - at one time you could have made a decent and full team out of our invalids!

I think you will see dramatic changes in both next season as the new managers get their own players in - don't write either off!

There was a banner at Old Trafford yesterday among the Leicester fans saying "we are staying up".

Most of the foreign press are saying different. Di Marzio have said he will be going to Utd for some time now.

As it stands, I'd be tempted to have a flutter on Liverpool next season.

The press didn't give Ronaldo the easy ride that Vardy has had. Hell they were even whining about the red card a few weeks back.

I suppose all that matters is that he's pulling on an England shirt, just brush the unsavoury cheating, accusation of racism under the carpet.

Please no, it was bad enough a few years ago, I wouldn't want them to actually go that last step!

Quite happy with the wait since 1990 going on for a while yet!

Arsenal only really have technical players, that is their downfall, they don't really have many, if any players that you could really count on week in week out to do the hard work, so they are in just as much danger next season as we currently are.
