I felt some of the chelsea fans were a bit tvv@tty, there was one bald guy in particular and everytime it was a Spurs corner kick he would go out of his way to move all the way down to the front and shout abuse at the player and then return back to his place.

He did this at every opportunity, how is behaviour like that acceptable?

I wonder if there will be any disciplinary action against spurs and Chelsea for their disgraceful behaviour. Both clubs showing a lack of class.

I thought Clattenberg did well last night, 12 cards dished out, and not one of them doubled for a red - some going that!

Pretty sure there will be bans handed out and fines. Isn't he supposed to be one of the best refs we have? Clearly had an off day then.

However, he'll probably be rushing to dip into his back pocket the minute a player so much as breaks wind in his direction at the cup final in a few weeks time.

I think part of Leicester's success was starting the season with an attitude and determination not to be in another relegation battle.
The way they started simply implied they wanted 40 points as quickly as possible and found themselves at the top of the table in the process. Chelsea, Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal and Man City were relying on each other to beat Leicester and push them out of the top four. It just didn't happen and I am not sure if Chelsea, Man Utd, Arsenal and Man City are going to find it any easier next season either. Time to place your bets on another underdog winning the PL next season?

Why would that be the case?

I would expect at least two of those sides to be significantly better next season. It was a bit of a perfect storm for Leicester this season, as it would have ben for any side that were good enough to be consistent for a long period. Spurs and Arsenal should be really kicking themselves I feel. For me its like Liverpool a couple of years ago, these chances wont come along every year and must be grabbed when they do.

Because he'll be wanting to make amends for the shocking performance he had last night where he could and should have sent a number of players off.

I think he'll be under some scrutiny.

I got an email from Sky Bet, and in it they include this:

Quote:
“Will the Foxes retain the title next year? You can now back Leicester City to win the Premier League 2016/17 at 33/1!

Leicester City now join the Champions League for the first time in the clubs history, but will they go all the way first time? Back them now at a massive 50/1!

Why not back Vardy to continue his season of a lifetime and win the Euro 2016 Finals Golden Boot? Back him now at 40/1!”

So there are the odds for anyone interested.

A moot point perhaps but would Wes Morgan have got an England call up this season if he hadn't already plumped for Jamaica?

I suspect he wanted to let the game go, but there were some bad tackles early on, which set the pattern. He never really had control after that, not helped by the players it has to be said.

There could easily have been 7-8 sending offs by todays standards. In the 70's it would have been a normal game.

If the final was this weekend, you may have a point.

However, if it's deemed that he has to answer for a poor performance, then that will happen prior to the final.

He's a well-established referee. I don't think that one debateable performance will lead to him suddenly being over-zealous.

He's a professional referee. I don't think he'd try to rectify any mistakes made in a previous game by taking it out on the competitors in the next game, and a cup final of all things. Sometimes when referees make mistakes, realising they gave away a penalty when they shouldn't or get an offside call wrong they might try to make up for it in that game by letting a decision go the other team's way, but once the final whistle goes that's it. He won't go into the next game and just give a penalty away because he realised he made a mistake in the previous game.

Long time for them to change. I can't say I'm surprised at the odds for the champions league though - a clear sign the bookies don't want to get caught again.

I suspect you'll be able to do better at other bookies but I doubt you'd get to anywhere near three figure odds, which is what it should be.

I don't think he'd take it out on players deliberately but I think he may show less tolerance next time. Rather than say a warning he might just issue a yellow instead whereas before he may have shown more leyway.

That game last night reminded me of the one with Holland a few years ago where the ref lost control of the situation. Di Jong getting away with a Kung fu kick.

What would be Pellegrini's honest attitude to finishing in the Top 4?

a) Desperate to do so, to ensure that he is not remembered for failing to.

b) No great fuss either way, C.L is his only priority. Would much prefer they did but not comparable to his desire to win in Europe.

c) Secretly would have a chuckle to himself in years to come that Guardiola came to a side in the Europa League, after the way that he was treated, if they miss out on the C.L.

I think I would be C but I think he is dignified enough to be B at worst.

Pellegrini would never deliberately stop Man City gettng into the top four, but he is desperate to win the Champions league as it is way of showing the owners that they should not have got rid of him

People used to regularly say that the referee failed if he sent a player off.......

It used to be the case that part of the referees job was to ensure it stayed 11 a side for the whoe 90 minutes. That if he controlled the game well, it would normally mean that the players controlled their behaiour too.

Bu then, I'm not talking about current day fotball, when players get sent off for as much as breathing on an opponent.

He's too much of a professional for C although with some of the shit we've produced this season in the PL I've been starting to wonder.

Here's a fun stat.

Mark Schwarzer becomes the first player to win back-to-back titles with two different Premier League clubs, and he didn't play a single league game in either of those two seasons.

What the word on the Simeone incident ?

Surely he's not gonna get away with whacking an official on the arm when Dembele is reportedly likely to get a 10 match ban for rubbung his finger on Costa's eyelid .

Simeone was banned for 8 games about 18 months ago for hitting an official twice on the back of his head so I expected a severe reaction to the latest incident .
