Hasn't the got to be an element of ' intent ' though ?? I don't guy went in to hurt him.
They both went in 100% at great speed , someone was bound to get hurt. It's interpreted as not being in control and reckless. It's a straight red by the laws of the game. Gabriel's later tackle, where he missed the ball, got the man, but then got the ball with his trailing leg should also have been afoul, yellow this time. Ref having a nightmare |

I think if spurs draw or lose and Leicester win it might be all over.

It goes with the turf surely. Watford are a blood and guts team whereas every keeps saying Arsenal are a soft touch and don't have the heart for a battle.

You dont demonstrate heart for battle by attempting to break your opponents legs.

If Igahlo could pass accurately then Watford might be in business on the counter attack.

I think you're both forgetting just how fast both players were going , head on - both intent on winning the ball . The young Brazilan defender would know full well that Deaney would be throwing himself into the tackle as well .
A bad tackle is a bad tackle whether its against Roy Keane or Darren Anderton. |

Mariner is such an awful referee but unfortunately we have quite a few of them.

The point is its not less of a foul if its against a physical team. That makes no sense and by implication it would be MORE of a foul were it against a less physical team which is equally non-sensical.

I cannot believe we have people saying a two footed studs up off the ground tackle is not a red card.
David James thinks that both Gabriel's tackles were deserving of reds! The ref gave nothing for either. Mariner should be demoted, not fit for purpose |

I completely agree . That's why Mata was sent off the other night even though everyone knows he's not a player who ever deserves a red card . But refs do know what players are like and what they've done in the past . Maybe the ref just had a moment and thought that just maybe Deaney had it coming . He's always defending his own style of playing by saying that it's a man's game .
He was either completely inept and useless at his job, or a fraud and cheat. |

Leicesters last game is away at Chelsea so they need to get it won before then , I'd say. |
