Congratulations to Burnley and Middlesbrough on their return to the Premier League, commiserations to Brighton on not making it automatically, they will have to get back into it pretty quickly in the play-offs.

I think it's unfair to describe Burnley as a yoyo side just yet. They seem to be doing things the right way, compare what they are doing to what happened at Blackpool and you can see decent club management. I think they might stick this time. I'd have liked to see Brighton have a go, and hopefully they'll make it through the playoffs. I haven't got much time for Middlesbrough,

At the start of the game Bacuna & Lescott being booed by their own fans whenever they receive the ball. What an awful atmosphere!
So much booing now it is difficult to work out who is booing who. For sure this atmosphere is the complete opposite of what we can expect when their midlands neighbours Leicester play Everton. |

I'm happy for Sean Dyche that he's made an immediate return to the Premier League. He's clearly a good manager who seems like a decent fella, and it'd have been easy for Burnley to sack Dyche 2 years ago when Premier League relegation was looming. A lot of newly promoted teams often do. So it's nice to see him continuing to bring Burnley some success.
As for Middlesbrough, they've been flirting with promotion for a couple of years now, so it's nice to see them finally do it. Will be interesting to see what Karanka brings to the PL. Could be a good day for Newcastle today. They should really be beating Villa, but they'll still be outside the relegation zone if not in all likelihood. Norwich lost to United, and Sunderland currently a goal down against Chelsea. |

Zombies leave field 0-0 at Villa and Sunderland then concede an awful last minute goal to Chelsea go in 1-2 down.
Colback had a great chance to put Newcastle in the lead. Needless to say he made a complete mess of it. Mitrovic now on as sub for Cisse. That's me done, I have no interest in watching a sack of nutty slack. |

Three goals for Swansea now, hopefully that means that they will win that match.

Mitrovic misses a golden opportunity. Something of a sitter really.

Sunderland v Chelsea on a completely different level to the garbage I was watching at Villa. Chelsea evidently not on the beach just yet.

Significant as things stand a Sunderland win on Wednesday would relegate Norwich and Newcastle in midweek

Newcastle need to get a goal or if Sunderland win they can secure safety against Everton as stated above.

Credit Chelsea, they haven't given this game up and are seriously pushing for an equaliser. I think Sunderland will need another goal to win this match.
Defoe has been worth his weight in gold to Sunderland. |
