According to MOD2 Extra a short while ago, not only did Clattenburg have a good game refereeing Chelsea v Spurs - not sending anyone off made it more entertaining, etc - they all admired and enjoyed the way Spurs lost their heads and got 9 yellows, (although of course they didn't put it like that; 'good old fashioned 70s football'). Not one person even hinted that maybe if Spurs had focussed on playing football as they had mainly done in the first half, they might have been able to score another goal and win the game. Impossible to respect people coming out with that sort of drivel.
It was an absolute joke. The ref let Spurs get away with just hacking players down, he was lucky that there were no serious injuries.

The lino also chose to ignore an eye gouge, which is on par with biting in my book.

Tadic sends in an almost inch perfect cross which Long, effectively unmarked,,feebly heads wide. Unimpressive by Long, but Spurs need to take care: Soton are clearly not intimidated or overawed and are easily capable of scoring again and are playing as though they know it.

I was somewhat surprised Koeman wasn't poached end of last season by one of the bigger clubs here or in Europe. I thought he was far more impressive than the other Dutch manager in the premier league last season. I wonder if Everton, now it apparently has big money in the bank, might come calling.

Scandalous how a referee not taking action to make sure the contest remains a spectacle is congratulated.

Clattenburg allowed the game to get out of control and should be questioned on why he allowed numerous players to foul without punishment.

As I said, Spurs needed to take care, and Soton have now taken the lead and deservedly so.

Another wasted opportunity by Long; Spurs fortunate Soton do not have a striker of the class of Kane as Southampton would be more or less out of sight by now

Yeah, it was happening at the start of the season.

Arsenal to somehow finish above Spurs??

If it means them winning today, that will be fine by me!

Swap Long for Defoe and Sunderland would be relegated and Southampton would be pushing for a top four place.

Score reflects Long's inability to capitalise on several good chances and flatters Spurs.

Disappointing end of season for Spurs who have been impressive for most of the season.

Has Defoe officially retired from internationals? I'd be quite happy to see him get a spot in the squad.

Well City without Kompany are certainly there for the taking, but I have the feeling City players will be very mindful of how Pep will respond to them failing to reach the Champions League and that they are unlikely to have such generous wages elsewhere.

Every round makes leicester citys title win even more emphatic. Ten point margin as it stands.

After someone had already congratulated Spurs for their league win ahead of time too. Imagine.

Arsenal could still sneak second.

Can someone explain why flores hasn't been offered a new contract after securing a place in the prem?

That won't happen unless we have an injury crisis. Roy being Roy, Welbeck and Rooney are shoe-ins. Kane, Vardy and Sturridge are bound to be the other three of five.

Because it's Watford. The owners are clearly delusional.

I really hope they don't, it would just feel wrong. Spurs have been the only side to give any sort of chase for the title the past few months or so and, after Leicester, they are for me the standout team of the season.

Looks like Kompany is out for a while, and will miss the start of next season as well, playing catch up, without a pre-season, will be hard for him, especially with his body as it is.

Leicester could at the end of the season finish with the second biggest gap between first and second place, if results go their way (we have the record 18 point gap in 99/2000).

That would be one heck of an achievement!
