This board hired Moyes.

I wouldn't even try to think how they come to their decisions.

Probably still go for the latter. This squad is far better than the results suggest imo.”

Van Gaal in CL with youngsters coming through the ranks.

Mourinho in Europa, with Ibrahimovic, all youngsters flogged for peanuts. Fines galore from the FA and generally a lot more hate from opposing fans.

The youngsters thing is a myth. He's plays the regulars unless injuries dictate otherwise.

Rashford is the exception.

My take is that West Ham aren't going to lose their last two games at the Boleyn. They will get at least a draw on Tuesday and City will still take 4th place.

Plus they'll finish mid table with Moyes-esque finish in a couple of years after he's fallen out with half of the team.

Mourinho does have a very poor record when it comes to giving youngsters a decent shot. Van Gaal has given more than just Rashford a chance.

I think Van Gaal will only be sacked when it becomes mathematically impossible for them to play in the champions league next season, much like when Moyes was sacked.

I do however think they will wait until after the FA Cup final.

I'd imagine that's the case, but none of us really know. As United fans, all we can do is enjoy when things go our way. I'll be slightly amazed and very happy if we win the cup and qualify for the CL.

No disagreement from me about that, but it is the idea of Mourinho sitting on his hands, quiet as a mouse, just hoping the phone might ring and doing absolutely nothing in case it doesn't and not a squeak or leak in the media. Just doesn't fit my sense of the man. Only makes sense if it is done deal to me.

Man Utd don't go sacking managers willy nilly like Chelsea or Real Madrid.

Moyes was sacked in April when the max points he could accumulate was 69 and the 4th placed team had 70 points at the time. With Van Gaal they actually have to wait until the final day as a lost to West Ham still doesn't mean they are out of it.

Will it be the first time in history that Arsenal will have no players selected for the England squad for the upcoming Euros

Man City fans showing how 2nd rate they are. Pellegrini deserved a better send off then the one he got today after what he has done for that club.

I think Danny Welbeck could miss the Euros. So who do you think will be picked as the fifth striker, My money is on Marcus Rashford

It's wasn't exactly a bolt from the blue. He'd been doing fine with Everton on a tight budget and was steady. To take over at Utd with the players they had seemed like a logical choice.

celesti came up with an interesting name earlier today, Jermain Defoe.

A draw on Tuesday would not be the worst result, as that would leave us a point behind them, with City having a tricky game in Wales, whilst we have got Bournemouth at Old Trafford, and with the Welsh side on a bit of a bounce at the moment, they would be going into that match as favorites.
If we were to beat Bournemouth, and City go beat by Swansea, then we would be fourth.

So all still to play for.

I was thinking about him as an impact sub yesterday, and he wouldn't be the worst person to fill that void for a short period of time.

I think that could be a great idea, and I think the last few months he has been playing great because he is desperately wants to play for England again

Plus it is always good to take players on a high so to speak, and him and Vardy are definitely two that are currently experiencing those sensations.

Based on form, he undoubtedly deserves it.

You could do worse than take Defoe, though I don't know if he will.

Kane
Vardy
Sturridge
Rooney

Looking at that, there may well be room for Defoe if Welbeck is unavailable and we go with 5 strikers. Would be a good mix, and a nice amount of experience.

No, I think you'll need to beat West Ham if you are going to finish in 4th spot. If City need a win at Swansea then I think they'll achieve it.

Man City would have more to play for than Swansea, so they'll be up for it I think.

Although, despite Swansea being so poor, they're only 2 points behind Chelsea. It's highly unlikely but they could still finish 9th, ahead of Stoke and Chelsea, and be just one place behind Liverpool, assuming we don't move up any places. They've not long secured safety.

I agree with your last two comments. Moyes was out on his ear when there was nothing left to salvage. Probably has a clause in his contract that certain objectives have to be met. Hopefully not playing boring football is one of them. Nothing will happen now until after the cup final, look at how City's season has fizzled out, probably for the best if there are still things to play for.

Van Gaal has given a lot of debuts to young players but the majority of them from last season have featured very little this season.

So with that I'm not entirely sold.
