Yeah, I agree with this.

Yeah, totally agree. I'm surprised we still have this in our hands, it'd be a huge shame to hand control back to City before the final game.

We could have our own Aguero moment potentially.

A real nerve shredder!

It's scarcely believable that we're in this position. Getting a CL place would be daylight robbery.

Although, despite Swansea being so poor, they're only 2 points behind Chelsea. It's highly unlikely but they could still finish 9th, ahead of Stoke and Chelsea, and be just one place behind Liverpool, assuming we don't move up any places. They've not long secured safety.”

Yes that's true. Swansea haven't completely switched off for the season like other clubs around them, so one would think they're still keen to finish as high up the table as possible.

If Arsenal somehow manage to concoct a loss against Villa, United could still actually finish 3rd if they can beat West Ham and Bournemouth.

City's final day result wouldn't matter either - United would still get 3rd.

If City also did conspire to lose against Swansea, an Arsenal loss against Villa would actually see them fall to 5th on goal difference, so both Manchester Clubs would make the Champions League, although City would only be in the qualifying round.

I can't see Arsenal losing against Villa though, but if they do, things can change rather dramatically.

If we do then Louis really has a charmed life.

If City stumble over the line and finish 4th it'll feel like they barely deserve it either. It's certainly been a strange old season.

Swansea will be the form team going into that match, so I wouldn't say that they will be easy to beat by any means, and it is not as if City have turned up for any important matches this season is it?

Swansea are a very up and down team. Two wins on the bounce, but before that two heavy defeats. I'm not sure I'd rely on them for anything.

Arsenal only need a point to keep man Utd from finishing third! I can't see Utd scoring 12 in 2 games and I can't see arsenal having 12 scored against them!

Oh I would far rather we didn't have to rely on them, and instead just beat West Ham, to leave it very much in our hands, but if not, then I wouldn't be writing Swansea off in their last match.

If City have to win that game then I think they will so it's all on Tuesday for me.

You might not get beyond the qualifying round though the likes of Ajax , villireal and potential opponents for whoever finishes fourth

If you manage 4th, it'll be with the fewest goals since Everton in 2004/2005 I think. There's one man that is probably responsible for this unexpected chance and that's De Gea.

With United now 20th in UEFA's rankings (Arsenal are 10th, Spurs are 22nd) I've got no idea how the seeding works (don't Leicester take up a Pot 1 spot?) - United could get a really tough group if they survive the play off round. Same for Liverpool I assume if we are lucky enough to qualify via the Europa League.

Let's not count any of our collective chickens yet though...

Yup as Champions Leicester go into pot one, which is reserved for the champons from the top five major leagues I think it is.

We would if we qualified for the groups possibly be in pot three I think, as no way would we be in the first two pots.

As for who is responsible, I would say three people, De Gea, Martial and Rashford (with help from Smalling and Blind), those players have been the ones that have proven to be vital for us even standing a cats in hell's chance of Champions League football next season.

Yeah there are potentially some very tricky ties that we could get, nothing is by no means certain on that front.

Really , so what happened when they let Leicester have their way with them last week.?

Wasn't it 4:0 and their oh so dependable captain marvel handed the first crucial goal to them on a silver platter , as I recall .

A bad game for them, but that was actually a fortnight ago. They have since bounced back with two good wins, suggesting as I said before that their minds don't appear to be completely focused on their summer holidays just yet.

I still fancy City to go there and win if needed though.

Quite agree - why take a barely match fit player when for once you have good midfield options.

I have had my say on this matter before, and I really shouldn't get involved once again!

That corner for Arsenals equaliser should not have happened, if only Clichy did not try to header that pass back to Joe Hart

Looks like half of MU supporters dont want CL next year, as LVG will then stay!

Considering the complete shambles Van Gaal made of the Champions League this season, it would not be surprising if anyone wanted to be spared a re-run saddled with a manager using a so-called philosophy/system devised where it belongs, last century.
