They are just an average team . Obviously a manager who, hasn't been able to make the best of what he has available, but still, Man united are a Europa league squad. Two seasons of workmanlike, performances (despite qualifying for the champions league last season and predictably failing to get out of the group) with the odd exception is enough to prove it...

I've got nothing against them despite what people,in the united thread think, but I really think that their fans who stand by the fact that they don't need much strengthening are wrong....
It's probably best man united don't make the champions league as they aren't required standard for that at the moment.

Even if they got fourth there would be a fair chance turned over by the likes of Ajax in the play off round

They are miles off challenging for titles at the moment

From the neutral PoV it's probably best that Utd lose this and City qualify for the Champs League........it increases the chances of LVG going and might hasten the return of 'exciting Utd' instead of 'boring Utd'

which can only be good for the couch potato armchair viewers
I just don't believe that Mourinho is sitting there waiting to see if Utd decide to sack LvG if they make the top 4 or not.

His bigger than than that and I think he would of said to Utd months ago either hire me or not regardless of where the side finishes in the league. His a wanted man and he wouldn't wait around like that.

If Mourinho is going to Utd it was decided weeks ago.

Agreed he is more likely going to go to psg anyway if there is a choice between the two

Shame they never put this much effort in against swansea or they would be pushing higher.

Exactly my view and we would all know if he had not been offered the job. Mourinho would have no reason at all to keep silent or to remain without a club for next season.

Not sure they really ever deserved to be in that position but United have blown it.
Can't see City messing it up now.

Let's see what Man City turn up on Sunday now.

You don't know what team will turn up. They are not reliable. I question whether Pelegrini demands the right things from players hence the inconsistent performances.

I only realised it was that name a few years back when it was an answer on a pub quiz machine.

Agreed I would not rule out Swansea turning them over either under 70 points getting you forth this year as well

Oh I can, that's what they have been doing all season. But then Bournemouth might fancy their chances at Old Trafford.

Aside from Martial, I don't think LVG has made good use of all of that money he's had to spend. I agree that they have an average squad.

Here's hoping the Van Gaal rumours are true, even if it means the rest of us have to endure the mumblings of the miserable bugger.

One of the West Ham supporting journos on Sky over the weekend said it was a marketing thing because 'the Boleyn' was unique to the football whereas Upton Park was a generic area and Tube station so more difficult to market as a brand for the football club

He also confirmed what you say.......the Boys in Marketing might have been pushing it but the fans just ignored them

It's always been the Boleyn to their fans, others called it Upton Park after the area and the tube station, the "Park" makes people think that's the name of the ground like St James' Park, Ewood etc. If it had been a station and area like Dagenham East there wouldn't have been the confusion.

I hate it when they change the name of a stadium just for sponsorship or marketing

They've only looked half decent since Rashford got in the team......and that was only 'cos of injuries

they just look a pale shadow of the Utd teams of the 90s and 00s

ive got a feeling the fans are going on the pitch at the end
I think the stewards will stop them as they look highly trained to do a good job
