Will Martinez get a swansong on Sunday or will it be the P45 in the morning?

Sky don't like to mention that, it'll be the battle for 4th

We have money now, so can afford a top class manager

Martinez out tonight, Big Dunc caretaker manager for Sunday and then go out in the summer and get someone like Frank De Boer or Pellegrini in for next season

Hopefully out tonight and someone put in caretaker charge for the final game on Sunday

I think Everton are on their Holidays, lying on a beach somewhere, drinking a few Pina Coladas

Pellegrini is a good shout. He'd be a nice fit.

Whats the point of that. You might as well keep him for one more game then get rid of him

What no parading around the pitch with the players wives and children

We've got nothing to play for on Sunday and Norwich will be relegated already

So why not

Martinez has had enough time, the players and fans have had enough of him

Time for Kenwright and the new owner to take some action

Surely Rafa won't stay at Newcastle now? Would he fancy a cold, wet Tuesday night at Burton Albion even for this reported £5m a year?

You'd think another Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga or Serie A club would come in for him?

The Spain job is available after the Euro's I think, and he could be an option there, so I seriously doubt that he will be a Championship manager.

Well Valenica are looking for a new manager but would he go back. There is the option of Everton but would he be popular as he used to manage Liverpool. Maybe PSG might try to get him. He will have plenty of offers thats for sure

I did hear the Everton rumour. That would be an interesting appointment!

Don't bet on it....saw a speculation that they won't get rid of him until June...something to do with his contract and how much they would have to pay him. Must be something keeping him still at Everton, otherwise he should have gone after the FA Cup semi.

Could Chelsea still make the Europa league if Man United wins the FA Cup

Delighted for Sunderland, at least the fought hard to stay up.

Newcastle need to be reminded every now and again they aren't the big club they think they are. They have been lazy and Saturday's performance cost them their place in the prem.

Big Sam doesn't do relegations.

Him and Pulis sure know their stuff when it comes to getting sides safe.

Well done Sunderland. Couldn't have asked for a better opponent for such a crucial game. A professional performance from them, another woeful performance from Everton.

Wow this is a stat and a half!! -

Sébastien Bassong is now being relegated for the 4th time in the Premier League, after being relegated twice from the French Ligue 1.

Thanks to Gracenotelive on twitter for that.

Looks like he is cursed!

The only other player that I can remember with a career like that was Neil Redfern, whom I think had a few relegations on his C.V.

January 2008 Newcastle sack Sam Allrdyce.

May 2016 Newcastle relegated against Sunderland by Sam Allrdyce. Sweet revenge. Mike Ashley has destroyed Newcastle, I do feel for their fans but if they weren't so arrogant it wouldn't be as funny as it is!

Paddy Power on Facebook:

A team that looked doomed. A great run of results that kept them up. Just need a trip to Thailand, some prostitutes and a sex tape and Sunderland are next year's PL champions.
