If not played this week it's going to be one of the most unwanted games ever.....

Spurs are ranked 22nd in UEFA's rankings - that's quite low so Pot 3 is more likely. I hope Liverpool end up there too but frankly if we win on Wednesday I don't care if we're in a Pot Noodle...

If I was a season ticket holder I'd settle for £38 of beer tokens and not bother playing

If we win the FA Cup final, and thus have automatic qualification into the group stages of the Europa League, then, good luck to the tv companies, and media in general in finding an angle to try and hype the rearranged match up (if it is played after the cup final).

They should've just captured it for information.

Yes, I totalyl agree with you Munch and I'm sorry (and surprides) that I seem to appera to have confused you, as this is exacfly what I perhaps maybe definitly should have written as an additional added bit of extra infromation, which may have well cleared things up so I (and othre posters mail or femail who also aupport football and enjoy our beatiful game played by men and femails of all ages) can continue to have a good debate about the isseus at hand.

If they did, we would be the last to be told.

It will probably turn up in an episode of the X-files.

The game means a little if played before the cup final means zero if played after

Looks like it is now being played before the cup final.

Very well written, have you considered a career in journalism?

If I got this right. United need to either beat or draw with Bournemouth to claim a place in the Europa league. Score 19 they get into the Champions. If they finish 5th and they win the FA Cup. Southampton claim a Europa League place being 6th.

If they lose to Bournemouth they will have to win the FA Cup or no Europe at all. Southampton meanwhile would remain 5th on GD.

Southampton must be worrying that if United win against Bournemouth but lose the FA Cup that would mean they don't get the Europa league place.

.@gmpolice on Old Trafford evacuation: 'A training device was accidentally left by a private company following a training exercise.' #mufc

Apparently that was the cause of the game being abandoned.

I hope said company can find itself a good lawyer because I'm sure United will be taking them to court over this matter.

Let's face it, this has been a truly miserable season at Old Trafford.

Not just United, but I would imagine the Premier League as well.

Unbelievable if this turns out to be the case with this company.

Thats a bit embarrassing for the Private firm,, someone should get fired for that.

I suppose its better than it being a hoax or a real bomb though

Southampton have already qualified, regardless of the outcome of those games. It's West Ham that would be affected.

Man United can't find a coach driver who can get them to a game on time, can't find a manager who can get them into the CL even with £250m to spend and now can't hire a security company capable of conducting a routine training exercise. Seems like Fergie really was the only thing holding that club together all these years.

That's ironic. City's season has been disrupted by a Kompany too...

United would only miss Europe if they lost both games, they might just go through motions though on Tuesday night

Damn right it is. Cock up is great compared to planned terrorising/panic/mayhem. Next we'll discover the private security firm has lots of government contracts with its directors old school friends of Cameron and all.
