It's old news now, Leicester galloping off to win the title by 10 points, but there were a couple of posters on here (one actually, hi Jas...) who kept banging on about how lucky Leicester were with injuries despite being rebuffed numerous times with references to the famous cryogenic chamber, the incredibly well equipped physio room and imho their style of play which didn't involve running themselves ragged chasing the ball all the while.

It seems that data played a big part, at least acc to the company that sells them the data analytics package. More exciting reading here: http://www.computerweekly.com/news/4...data-analytics

Sounds like Benitez will stay at Newcastle

Very bold move by him if so.

If true, then he would go up in my estimation, as the easy option would be for him to just up sticks and move at the first decent offer that would be forthcoming.

Manchester City (51) had more injuries than any other club in the Premier League this season, three more than Newcastle (48). [PhysioRoom]

No doubt there's issues with our squad that needs sorting but we were also terribly unlucky with injuries last season.

Benitez must have been short of offers.

How many of those did Vincent Kompany account for?

Are all the neutrals supporting Liverpool tonight

or are the 'Big teams' fans not wanting them to qualify for the Champions League as it would be another player in the transfer market for the better players ?

I don't like any team dominating, so I'm pro-Liverpool but also anti-Sevilla. Double whammy.

Yeah, that's the reason...

John Terry signs a deal at Chelsea after all. Such a poor way to treat a club legend.

err, 35 yr old enters last season of contract.

Club have a policy of 1 year deals for eveyone over 30

Player says no deal on the table, club say wait until after the season

Player and club wait until after the season

Club offer 1 year deal, player accepts

Im sorry if you think this is a poor way, but it seems perfectly acceptible and logical to me.

Fair point, at least 5 probably.

What do we think about the discussions that will be taking place this summer, about the possibility of increasing the number of subs from seven to nine?
http://www.skysports.com/football/ne...ra-substitutes

Personally I think it is getting a bit much now as it is with seven, how long before the clubs push for a another whole team of eleven on the bench??!!

Was Terry given the wider role than player that the press were suggesting he might get?

He's had offers from China and elsewhere. Turned them down.

Everton by all accounts don't want him.

He wants the Newcastle job and has made secret of it if the terms are right and so far so good on that front.

That's certainly one spin to put on it.

I wouldn't have been too bothered had he gone to Everton, but I am pleased for you he's staying put, reckon he's giving you the best chance to bounce right back up. Just needs to get shot of your 'playing only for the money' players, get some new lads in who really want to play, and you should be just fine.

I don't really think it's a big deal. Possibly a bit pointless though considering it often seems like even now with a bench of 7 some of the subs are just making the numbers up as it is.
