Defence could still be a concern against better opponents .

I would have expected Cahill to be playing the left side CB position as he's the more experienced of the two CBs . Stones is effectively playing out of his normal position (right sided CB or RB ) . Stones is the one who needs a confidence boost , surely .

Well all those 'riches' in defence from past tournaments didn't exactly make the difference for England. So either defence isn't that important or those players you mentioned were never that good!
England possible 8 substitutes on the bench, Turkey 14. Is this sort of disparity usual in friendlies. I've not exactly kept a close eye on that sort of thing.
Alli could be a concern in the euros. He has a short fuse and opposition will exploit that at every opportunity.
