I was thinking about this earlier, I wonder who is successor will be with the national team, as just looking at the English goalkeepers at under 21 level, and below, I don't know quite how many will force themselves to be number ones at good clubs.

Hart might be the best we have for a while.

The funny thing is that England and Turkey could meet in the second round of the competition if England win their group and Turkey are one of the third place qualifiers.

Have we tried Vardy without Kane yet?

Good result in the end. Turkey are pretty much our equals.

Shush! Turkey, like everyone England play, are the most rubbishest team ever to play the game and are only looking better than a sunday league team because they are playing crappy old England.

I think you are overlooking Jack Butland, had a superb season for Stoke before getting injured and could well be pushing Hart for 2018 and beyond.

I suppose there are more than three better sides than England in euros despite what the odds suggest

Don't mind England being an also ran, as long as we run into, say, the semi-finals. Give us something to cheer about instead of whinging and whining.

Springstein plays Etihad Wednesday so it'll be boarded out tomorrow so.it was always going to be today at that ground.

To be fair I thought Walker and Sterling had good games. Rose also looked decent offensively. The diamond looked a much better option.

Hart has only just turned 29, Forster just turned 28 and Butland turned 23 in March. I think we're covered for a while. I can see the other two (other than Hart) ending at top clubs.

Thought Vardy and Walker were the standout performers. Surprised at Rose getting MOTM, complete liability defensively. I hope he makes the most of his run at this tournament as I suspect a fully fit Luke Shaw will be first-choice after the Euros.

Henderson and Wilshere both showed their lack of match fitness. If I were Roy, Drinkwater would go ahead of one of them.

So according to the studio pundits, Vardy is a cheat for initiating the penalty and Kane's penalty was a good miss. Heard it all now. Might as well be watching Turkish TV (with subtitles!).

My bad about Butland, I thought he was a bit older than that, hopefully he can get back fit, and back to his old self again, as he sure is a very decent keeper.

I could possibly see him going to Chelsea, if they sell Courtois, as his replacement.

As of now, I'd hazard a guess that Townsend, Delph and Barkley will miss out (and I'm a Barkley fan).

So now pep is on his way to man city. Would his time at Bayern be considered a success considering he hasn't won the CL? Winning the league doesn't seem to be much of a challenge for Bayern so maybe it's not that much of a success. What will be interesting is if Ancelotti wins CL in his first season.

State of some of the posters on this thread

And people still wonder why players don't seem to enjoy playing for their country as much as they do for their clubs.

It's like a preview of the nutters that appear during a tournament moaning about footballers wages and Coronation St being on at the wrong time.
