Gotta agree vardy dived, hes done it all season. Next season refs will be on top of it.
The pundits said it wasnt a penalty but that dosent mean it was a dive.

If it was then 50% of free kicks given are dives

It wasnt a penalty, vardy dived, should of being a yellow card to vardy and a freekick to turkey.

If that was a dive then there were at least 6 more in that game, people who make no attempt to play the ball just getting their body in the way of an opponent or falling to the ground when they feel a hand on them but thy are not dives by the letter of the law.

Reminds me a bit of Michael Owen, ahead of his time was Owen.

Problems that these days so many dive so proficiently it is hard to fully call it a dive.

Trouble is, you can guarantee virtually every other striker in the same position would go down so it's either be honest and be disadvantaged or have a level playing field. I'd rather it was stamped out of the game with retrospective punishment but that's unlikely as it's still subjective in many cases. Weak officiating has let this happen sadly. It's almost second nature to go down if you feel contact these days.

All we ban hope for is officials start being braver and turning some of these penalties down. If that starts to introduce a little bit of doubt into players minds they might start staying on their feet.

It's happening all over the pitch and it's frustrating.

Is this the first time England have played a home game outside Wembley since it was rebuilt?

For all who scream "Dive" when was the last time anyone got a penalty by staying on their feet.

Vardy uses his pace to get goal side of a defence wether he hits the brakes to create contact or just waits for the defender to make contact that isn't his problem.

Yes he's done it all season and with the exception of the West Ham game he's been awarded them by a number of ref's because they are fouls.

The Turkish defender put a hand on him when he was clean through, you can't do that.

If anything I expect those type of decisions to be given more by European ref's than in the PL.

Super pass from Messi.

2-0 Neymar and once again Messi pulling the strings with a super assist.

Barca win the Double. Another great season for Enrique

The Spanish game?

I thought it was really good game. Pique was amazing when Barca went down to 10. Refused to let Barca concede.

I'm certain Messi is the best passer of the ball in football. The weight of the pass is always spot on. Stunning passes just because it's Messi we have become accustomed to it so it's the norm.

I am still trying to work out how a missed penalty, could be classed as something that is positive, talk about spin!

No Vardy on Friday for the Australia game as he is getting married.

Seeing as Roy is happy with that Vardy must have done more than enough to earn a spot...which he probably has!

Do you have a link to those horrible comments, I haven't come across them?

It was a pretty, if not completely, desperate attempt to defend Kane by saying he hit it really well and hard he just happened to miss the goal completely. Even Ian Wright was unable to suppress an embarrassed giggle when it was blurted out. It was part of the Kane good, Vardy bad punditry at the time.

Calling him 'Woy' is of course eminently classy.

We have had a fair few players over the years hit the ball hard, and completely and utterly miss the target, yet I don't seem to remember them getting praise for doing so!

To praise someone for missing a penalty is just utterly bizarre, and is taking bias to the next level!

I can't wait to see if we get knocked out via an own goal, to see how that own goal was actually a positive thing!
(Note I don't under any circumstances want to see us eliminated, this was just a query.)

Well, john stones made a good contact with the ball, he wasnt afraid to try something different and not many strikers could have controlled the ball that well and dribbled around 2 attacking players. You can clearly see he has good technical ability and with a bit more time on the ball and an experienced player like Terry next to him, he wouldnt have calmly slotted home past a bemuzed Hart. He is one for the future. He has so much potential and will no doubt be world class with a better team around him and a solid keeper in goal.

No its hard to view it as anything but an error. A player of Kanes ability must be able to hit the target when in that situation. This wasnt a relaxed friendly match but a much more feistier meeting which was a bonus for England in their run in to the Euros. Still I think Kane should have done better, hitting a ball off the penalty spot is good but if you miss it then its bad.

Kane gets some sort of special mention for being the first England player to miss a penalty in 6 years. Hindsight is a great thing and perhaps him and his manager can take something postive from it happening.

Well, I see Man Utd have elected to swap out a divisive eccentric, who plays dull football for a divisive sociopath, who plays dull football.

Should be interesting!

How much do you think Louis will get? £5m or more?
I was spot on. https://twitter.com/MattHughesTimes/...81191849709569

"Van Gaal will leave #mufc with a pay-off of £4,554,000, plus a £400,000 bonus for winning the FA Cup. Every cloud etc..."

Add Roy Keane and Ibrahimovic to the mix and it's gonna be a bumpy yet exiting ride .
