Steven Gerrard is 36 today.
All at Galaxy are happy with that I suppose.

I wonder how many more seasons he will play there or where he will go next?

DAILY MIRROR: Gonzalo Higuain is interested in joining Liverpool as the Argentine striker tries to force his exit from Napoli. Higuain, 28, wants to quit Napoli after scoring a record 36 goals in 35 league games last season to help them finish runners-up behind Juventus.

Reads like an agent trying to drive up his price to any suitors.

Be more interesting to see who he sells, as it won't be easy to get rid of the more highly paid players.
That's th biggest problem. They really need to get the average age of the squad a lot lower but how you shift players on who may not want to take a wage cut.

The recruitment at city has been shambolic at times.

Oh. Okay. People do tend to be happy around people's birthdays...

Yes it is easy to say get rid of for example, Delph, Navas, Yaya, etc, but to whom, as they have every right to say no thanks if the deal is not in their best interests.

I'm glad for AFC but I think they'll be fighting relegation next season.

Yeah, I remember their cup match on TV a few years ago now was it, and that was a cracking atmosphere, next season will hopefully have just as good games between them!

If they can. Reports on the weekend say he wants to stay.

I think it's 5 minimum. Could be more like 7 or 8.
I'm surprised. I thought he would be off to China or maybe Serie A at this stage. I think he's well past his peak.

5 would be a decent amount to start to put his own stamp on the squad without too drastic an overhaul right away. There are some players that need moving on as well but there's still a lot of talent in the side that should thrive if Pep can get the best out of them. The targets Poy mentioned seem like good ones, though I would be skeptical of Stones without the experience of Kompany alongside him.

Happy for AFC Wimbledon, and fellow Liverpool fan Adebayo Akinfenwa. Despite his size he seems like one of the nicest people in football.

Are we going to have a Euros discussion thread or use this one to discuss general Euros matters?

Not so nice when it came to wanting to take that penalty though. 😉

Luckily for him it was a great penalty . He obviously wanted a final hurrah!

I imagine a dedicated Euro thread will be started very soon.

From my experience of past tournaments there tends to be threads for individual matches. People seem to compete to be the first to start the threads. Don't know about a thread for general discussion. Since there's a dedicated sub-board for the Euros I imagine a thread will be made in there. Can start one yourself if no one else does.

An entire sub-forum for a single, massive Euros thread would seem a tad pointless, wouldn't you agree?

Yes I know but there is also an entire subforum to discuss football and yet people post in this thread which is football general discussion .

Of course there will be match threads and other threads but a Euros general chit-chat thread might be nice.
