Roberto Di Matteo is the new Villa boss, that makes it two Champions League winning coaches/managers in the Championship next season, I doubt that has happened before!

Credit to both of them. They've certainly got a challenge on their hands. I think it's great for the credit of the Championship as well. Such a tough league to get out of.

Be good if they can get their clubs back in the prem. I wonder if Pearson can do the same with derby? Towards the end with Leicester he kinda lost the plot with some bizarre behaviour Also press conferences. Do agree that its great for the championship.

Yeah, if I had everything my way I'd build the team around Alli which means playing him in what is unquestionably his best position in the free role behind Kane.

I like Ali but I hope he doesn't start to believe his own hype ...plus he could " lose it " at any given moment which is a worry .
Surely if England want to play out from the back there no point in playing two stoppers is there ? Neither Smalling and certainly not Cahill are able to carry the ball out of defence or even play decent passes to the midfield . Stones can do both easily . He was just getting his confidence back in the last game and I was certain he'd start tonight .

Smalling is the only centre back we have who's had a remotely decent season. The other two are complete liabilities in my book based on the past season. Both got replaced in their first teams and Cahill wouldn't have played again if Zouma didn't get injured.
