Let's blame Rooney for everything tonight. Nothing to do with trying to play too many forwards or rank average midfielders what'soever.

Wilshire should start next game along with Sterling.

Money comes before winning.

This basically, we have an average team as shown tonight, we will probably get out of the group but as soon as we play one of the top sides we will lose, whether that be in the last 16 or quarter finals.

With not being English doesn't really bother me but he shouldn't start but he will

Honestly, even though I have been extremely critical of his contribution for Utd this season Rooney really isn't the problem here.

Because he wasn't even fully fit going into that match.

We don't have enough wide players in my squad - that's my concern. Walcott has a problematic season and Townsend only came to life at the end but our only wide option is Sterling. I don't think that's enough.

I particularly like the notion that he's only picked for sponsorship reasons.

Forget the 50-odd goals he's scored. Nothing to do with that.

I dont think im looking forward to the Euros as much as i was

I think we are going to see the same England struggling in those group games when we should be beating them easily

Decent cameo from massively injured chain-smoking thug Jakkk Wiltshiere I thought.

He could double that tally and he'd still get the blame for others failing to perform.

Hodgson's army claim another scalp in their relentless pursuit of victory.

The Russians must be sweating after watching that.

Rooney brings hardly anything to the attack these days. He wouldn't be missed if he didn't play.

Curiously defensive and tetchy interview from Roy Hodgson.

THAT IS LITERALLY YOUR JOB YOU IDIOT!

Poor Woy obviously wasnt happy about the standard of his blue rinse before the game , he looked worried about it for 90 minutes

Dele Alli won't learn. He has a screw-loose.

Targeting Alli to get him to do something silly and get sent off , all teams might try this, he will need to learn to keep his head

I fear Delle Alli will be the scapegoat this tournament - he'll get himself sent off stupidly in a key match which we'll lose a la Beckham versus Argentina and Rooney versus Portugal.

No he will start because he is the captain, it has nothing to do with sponsorship reasons.

This was a major issue tonight. I don't get why Woy is desperate to play three forwards - we are always going to lose the midfield battle against good teams with three strikers on the pitch. Plus Vardy and Kane are so much less effective when pushed out wide. Ultimately though Woy would need to drop his diamond formation, but we don't have anymore warm up games to try out anything else!
