Of course they would but unfortunately he can go and Leicester will be rewarded for it.

Let's not jump to conclusions and say Leicester will get relegated if vardy leaves.

The Shane Long example isn't the same. Hull sold him mid season knowing they were in a relegation scrap.

Leicester selling vardy now gives the club plenty of time to find a replacement.

A contract in football is basically Bosman insurance.

Doub't it as they got a very good fee for a striker that doesn't score very often.

Well, I do hope Leicester stay as they are.

Joining Arsenal means it all gravitates back to the money influenced norm. Kind of boring unless you happen to support one of the big 4.

I expect De Boer will probably turn up at Southampton if this is finalised.

Might put a cheeky bet on AVB myself, can see it happening.

He does seem desperate for a Premier League job!

Looks like it's finally done.
Got to feel sorry for the Saints fans. Koeman goes to Everton knowing Southampton's transfer targets and the players that will be leaving. Manuel Pellegrini now 2/1 to be Saints next manager according to PaddyPower.

Pellegrini would be quote a coup for them. He may have disappointed overall at City but he has a very good record with sides that are round and about Southampton's stature. He's still very well thought of at Villarreal and Malaga I'm sure.

Looks like Spain wont win the Euros as they are losing to Georgia at the moment

How did Georgia make the final?

If we're judging this on pointless friendlies, I guess Croatia are a shoe-in after their 10-0 victory over San Marino.

Suits me fine, I got Croatia in the work sweepstake.

They lost the first match of the 2010 World Cup so it's pretty damn stupid to count them out after a pre-tournament friendly. But I'm sure you know that.

First pictures of Ronald Koeman arriving at Everton's Goddison Park after his holiday.

What do we make of this??

https://www.theguardian.com/football...P=share_btn_tw

I am a bit uncertain if I think this is a good thing or not, as I do not want to see B teams or Academics in the Football League at all (unless they start from the very bottom and work their way up).

It's shit. Why not just close off relegation at the bottom of the Premier League and play all games on a floating pitch travelling the world for rich folk to throw money at like confetti?

I can see the games with the football league sides against the academies being low attended ones, as who really wants to see their team up against an academy side?

On the one hand, it's completely illogical to open up the competition to PL academy sides while keeping it closed to Championship sides who, for one thing, are actually in the Football League.

On the other hand, it's crystal clear to see why this has been brought in as the club chairmen's eyes would have lit up at the injection of PL prize money and the large attendances for the home matches against the big PL names - plus it helps the Football League to stave off the proposal of putting academies into the leagues proper.

The League clubs will be hoping that their fans won't notice the 'Academy' bit and just see that their side is up against Man Utd or Liverpool or Arsenal or whoever.

Really? Just quite how think do the clubs think their fans are??

Of course they will see the academy bit, and not turn up in their droves.

The start of trying to push such teams into the league pyramid?

Something which I would be dead set against from ever happening.

It seems Sampoli is the new manager of Sevillia, a very good choice by them I think.
