Brendan Rodgers is having a baptism of fire in his first match as manager of Celtic; they've just gone 1-0 down to Lincoln Red Imps of Gibraltar in the first leg of their Champions League qualifying match.

He did, yes, against Artmedia Bratislava in a similar Champions League qualifier.
The irony is that Celtic are losing to a team who dominates their country's football more than Celtic do - Lincoln Red Imps have won the Gibraltan Premier Division for the last 14 seasons.
And so it comes to pass that a team who saw off mighty Barcelona only four years ago lose to a team of part-timers from a territory whose population could fit into Celtic Park twice over.
Rangers fans must be laughing themselves hoarse right now.
And Brendan Rodgers has just stated in the post-match interview that "there's no embarrassment"
How can there be no embarrassment, when they lost to a team where apparently one of the players on the Gibraltar side was still driving his taxi at 1pm!
Deary me, still I fully expect for Celtic to go through after the second leg.
I watched the second half, Celtic were terribly poor. The commentator said that their top scoring striker from last season was being played on the wing... BR playing players out of position ? Wouldn't be the first time...
Delighted for Lincoln though, their players clearly gave it there all and got the rewards for it

I remember Man United being in a similar position a few years back, losing 1-0 in the first leg of a qualifier to a Hungarian team that I'm not going to try and spell, and similar things were being said about it being our worst European result etc. We won the return leg comfortably and the first leg was quickly forgotten.

Not really much comparison between a Gibraltar team and Ferencvaros (don't know if it was them but they're the only Hungarian team I know apart from the great Videoton).

I was thinking Debrechen, but you could be right I suppose with the teams you mention.
