Sunderland not wasting any time.

Good appointment for both parties.

Think Sunderland could finally be out of a relegation battle now, wouldn't be surprised to see them mid-table/top half in a couple of years.

Of course, they still have Jermain Defoe who has become their saviour and talisman in the last couple of seasons, but I haven't seen much in terms of player development or new signings at Sunderland that will trouble the likes of Stoke, West Ham, and West Brom, or similar mid-table teams.

Relegation battle for the Black Cats once again, I think.

I said they could get there in a couple of years. I think this season they will maybe finish 12th-14th or something, fairly safe.

Also, West Ham aren't a mid-table team anymore. They have to be up there with the likes of Southampton, Everton etc surely... I think Sunderland could get up towards West Brom and Stoke in a couple of years.

Will Moyes try to sign Fellaini for a 3rd time?

A solid enough appointment - Moyes will have a point to prove and he'll get them being hard to beat etc much like Big Sam.

Moyes, the latest in a huge list of managers to be made to look an absolute tit by holding up a team shirt to indicate that he is now the manager. There is no other line of work where a new boss is made to do that. We know what the top looks like, he won't even have to ever wear the ****ing thing in his entire time in the job.

That would be my number one negotiation point. Never mind a list of potential transfer targets. The main dealbreaker would be not having to look an idiot holding up a shirt. Are these unveliengs targeting the clubs 3 and 4 year olds fanbase?

Moyes needs to get back to "Everton Moyes" rather than the Post-Everton shambles. If he doesn't hit the ground running, which is asking a hell of a lot, I dont see it going well.

In the international champions cup. Will the teams put out their strongest team or will the big names be staying at home?

He can have him if he really wants him!

Sunderland is the perfect job for Moyes. He took over at Everton with the club in a relatively similar position and arguably has a better squad. I think he'll be absolutely fine and Sunderland should find themselves as safe as houses.

Well we have left Pogba, Ibra, Rooney, De Gea, and a fair few others out so far, so definitely not our strongest side that featured in the Dortmund game.

You haven't left out Pogba, he's not a Man Utd player yet. Might not even be one. Juve have confirmed there are talks but there is no indication those talks are going well!

I was being a slight bit sarcastic by including Pogba in my point there, but he has been left out of this tournament.

To be fair, I would wager a fair amount that there is more chance of Pogba returning to play for us again, then there is of Suarez playing for you again.

For those interested as we're getting closer to the season starting is a list of the Super Cup/Community Shield/Curtain Raisers for the main five European Leagues:

FA Community Shield

Leicester City V Manchester United

Sunday 7th August 2016, Wembley Stadium

Trophée des Champions

Paris Saint-Germain V Olympique Lyonnais

Saturday 6th August, Wörthersee Stadion, Klagenfurt, Austria.

Supercoppa Italiana

Juventus V AC Milan

Friday 23rd December, Abu Dhabi, UAE (Stadium to be determined)

DFL-Supercup

Borussia Dortmund V Bayern Munich

Sunday 14th August, Signal Iduna Park, Dortmund

Supercopa de España

First Leg

Sevilla V Barcelona

Sunday 14th August, Ramón Sánchez Pijuán, Seville

Second Leg

Barcelona V Sevilla

Wednesday 17th August, Camp Nou, Barcelona

There's also the UEFA Super Cup between Real Madrid and Sevilla being played on the 8th August at Lerkendal Stadium in Trondheim. Norway.

I know they're glorified friendlies but they are special because it signifies the start of the season.

Dortmund/Bayern should be a good one not just for the rivalry but with their new look teams and also the fact that the game is being played at Dortmund's home.

Sevilla have lost key players as they seem to do every season but they've also lost Emery who was a top manager for them. Hopefully they'll give Barca a good two games akin to what Bilbao did last season.

Any particular reason (other than money) for the Supercoppa Italiana being in Abu Dhabi? It just seems a little unfair on the Italian sets of supporters.

They've done it on and off for years, they held it in the USA at some point in the 90s and maybe even further back. It's like an exhibition game but with a little more meaning, and has to be better than exporting a league game.

Bit surprised that it's not been tried with our Community Shield tbh.
