Why's the French supercup thing in Austria? Seems a bit random. Saying that I noticed that there's a fair few friendlies being played over there involving PL clubs, even when not against Austrian opposition.

I don't know, taking any English competitive game abroad (which the Community Shield technically is) would smack of being the thin end of the wedge.

The talk that has since died down about a 39th game abroad would probably re-surface if the game went abroad.

It is a nice bit of publicity for The FA, so I can't see it being moved away from where itis at the moment.

Looking at other pictures of him it does look blond.

Here's hoping he hasn't taken on Aaron Ramsey's curse!

He looks a right chav!

He used to look attractive before he went down the Beckham path.

I admit I hate tattoos but some blokes can carry them off. Beckham can but they just don't look right on Messi.

Like an altar boy with a no 1 haircut.

Maybe he's trying to look edgy?

Early mid-life crisis perhaps??

He has a heck of a lot of pressure on him day in day out.

Certainly he doesn't look as innocent as he used to.

You beat me to it, I was going to say mid-life crisis, linked maybe to him retiring from international football and wanting to feel youthful again.

Yeah for so long he has been the saviour of Argentine football, the one that will lead them back to the promised land almost single handedly.

He has not really done that, and so even with the best sports people, they are just humans, and come with emotions, so this could be a way of just trying to rebel, and to show that he is his own person.

I miss the floppy hairdryer kid, who just seemed to really enjoy his foot, that does seem to have passed now, what with all the tax stuff, and the threat (however unlikely) of going to prison.

It's a very niche market on certain websites.... Messi sitting with a floppy sucking on his toes.

Re-vamped Football league trophy draw:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/...ment_125082619

How will the Premier league Under 21 teams take to this?

See it as a chance for their youngsters to play competitive matches against players and sides who might want to make a mark themselves?

Well most of the big clubs (bar Chelsea and Everton) have not entered it, so it is already incredibly devalued from the very start.

No surprise we're in it, we'll put a team out for pretty much anything! I don't think it's a bad idea though (from our perspective), anything that gives our youngsters more competitive games than they'd normally play can only be a good thing.

Vey one sided even if Celtic were gifted a goal by some poor defensive play.
