So the new season is almost upon us. I would like to wish all EFL and non league clubs all the very best for the upcoming season. I hope that it is a successful one.

2015/2016 season was a breath of fresh air with no mind games like in other seasons and that a popular club achieved the ultimate prize by becoming english champions for the very first time in their history. I fear with the return of the arrogant one to ot that normal service has resumed and that the mind games will be unleashed again.

As for leicester city. I aint making no forecasts and will be just taking one game at a time. Where leicester end up on may 21st remains to be seen. It is going to be an interesting season

I am disappointed that leicester have seen fit to accept participation in the EFL Trophy. This competition is for league one and two clubs and should have remained that way.

Sky will be oblivious to the fact that the national league starts next saturday. Doubt whether they will give it the time of the day. But the olympics come first for me so football can wait.

Cant understand why the football season couldnt have wait til the 20th august so that there was minimal olympic overlap. But the PL have shown that they have no regard for the olympics

I wish football wasn't part of the Olympics. It's my least favourite element, even as a football fan. The Olympic games should be where we obsesses over the weightlifting and fist-pump when we get bronze in the pole vault and go mental when we win the synchronised diving doubles.

And if the PL have shown a lack of regard, then surely so have the Football League, National League etc given that they start next week.

I actually quite enjoyed seeing the one off Team GB in London for the football, shame that it got put to an end, as a combined team this year (well mainly probably Welsh players) could have been a good watch!

We didnt qualify during the 2015 European U21 tournament, we needed to get to the semis.

True, but I doubt that we would have fielded one even if we had qualified sadly.

There is rugby sevens which is I think, I am correct in saying a version of rugby union.

Sorry if it is off topic, I was just wondering if that fit into the other sports that you listed, as not really worthy of being in the Olympics.

Then you should have mentioned rugby union as im sure i have seen you castigate people for just stating rugby before and not defining union or league.

And as i said, its off topic for a football thread.

Leicester getting hammered against PSG. Hopefully not a sign of things to come in champions league.

Was just a friendly. So is no indication to the new season. While it is always great to win a defeat can help you concentrate on what areas needs to addressing

A win doesnt mean that you are going to sweep aside all before you in the next season. Though fans of other clubs are perhaps thinking otherwise.
