Soft penalty but you can see why it was given. One of those 'he was looking for it' ones.

BT Online feed is a good minute behind whatever you guys are watching.

Sturridge free kick against the bar!

Match has really livened up now.

That goal from Aubameyang

That could well be game set and match for Liverpool

What a magnificent individual goal that is from Phillippe Coutinho.

To have the presence of mind to just dink it into the net between de Gea and the near post is just astonishing.

Coutinho made that look so easy.

Pulsating half.

Poor keeping there from De Gea. Left a gaping hole near post for some strange reason.

Of course Owen who has been waxing lyrical about his saves so far isn't able to criticise.

That's a shocking goal to concede for United. Coutinho showed great skill and nerve but the full back was beaten too easily and I'm always skeptical when the keeper is beaten at his near post like that.

Wow, Messi-like finish by Coutinho turns the leg on its head. Prior to that, smart money was on United.

Yeah, for all Owen's ass kissing, I thought Mingolet made the best save of the first half. But he brushed that off as simply a good save before going on and on about how amazing De Gea was for bringing a routine ball into his chest.

I dunno, it was always a Liverpool goal away from being tie over. Not conceding an away goal is so big in Europe.

Agreed. Seems being a pundit these days is going for the popular opinion rather than telling it how it is.

Cracking game that - both defences are absolute howling so I expect more goals in this 2nd half. De Gea has pulled off one cracking save but was badly at fault for the equaliser.

I suppose you would hope Seville v Dortmund in the next round of this as it's difficult to see either of these two not winning this.

One of them going out in the next round would help

You are right, but Liverpool were really under the cosh until the Coutinho goal and United were creating good chances. Very long road back for United now.

Owen is pretty rubbish. He's more of a United cheerleader than I expected.

Fellaini needs to be sorted out . Why wasn't any action taken after he elbowed Can at the end of last weeks game ?

His filth. Remarkable how he gets away with it so often.

As I said a while back, in the build up to the game Scholes said Fellaini got away with 15/20 fouls every game.

He was no different at Everton.

Scholes also said he thought United should exploit the potential weakness of Milner at full back by putting Martial on that wing. Made sense to me.

Jeez Fellani's dive (69 mins) is just outrageous. Is that what he's reduced to these days, elbowing & diving? What a cheat...

Liverpool may as well go out to win the game outright. They've been the better side in this half. United look dejected and bereft of ideas.

Difficult to think of a United team over the past few decades who would not have been determined to at least win on the night. But then it is difficult to think of a United manager who would have made the sort of substitutions Van Gaal has.
