We still somehow managed to get some of the money back after selling him to Chelsea though.😁😁
Chelsea were good to us for a while, as not only with that deal, but the Obi Mikel one as well, where they paid us a fair bit of cash for a player who had never played for us!

Yeah I think he's a Guardiola-type defender, and he's young enough to improve other areas. If a manager like Guardiola spends that kind of money on a young player then he must have faith in him. Mourinho was also willing to spend a similar amount of mo
We will get to see if pep and jose were right about making him the worlds most expensive defender.

The strange thing is, he is simply not a good defender.

I think he'll do alright there. Whatever his faults are, he is good on the ball and Guardiola likes that sort of CB. At Barca and Bayern he had to resort to converting Mascherano and Javi Martinez to get that type of defender.

He's a talented player who could be very good with the right coaching.
He will definitely need to up his game from the player he was last seas, as he was very poor then, and he would be a huge weak link in their team, if he carried over that form to City.

Pogba will be seen as a bargain buy at this rate!

i never claimed that at all

I claimed he would cost £120m in total, and when its shaken down today it looks like i was very accurate.

£89m plus the £20m fees plus the £5m add ons.

His wages are around Three Hundred Thousand pounds a week.
£89m plus £5m actually.

Juventus are paying the agent fees which is an outstanding bit of negotiating from Woodward.

Im sure it doesnt need mentioning that your figures from this to the crazy £290million claim are very wrong.

Is every transfer from here in going to be met with disbelief and derision?

The transfer prices have been hugely inflated, get used to it.

Bolasie is a very good player and an exciting signing for Everton.

Jeez Bolasie cost that much. English Football really is going crazy.

Average players demanding huge fees like that.

s.
Certainly by a certain chelsea fan on here who is about as objective as another certain man united fan. If the two ever met the universe might implode

You said there were 290,000,000 reasons why Pogba signed for Man Utd, at the time I did wonder what you meant and why you were insisting on typing out all the zeros.

This will be the norm from now on, or at least for the next 3 seasons...might get even worse after that, if the next TV deal is even higher.

Liverpool are still laughing about that piece of business.

He's only very good about a dozen games a season, not great at crossing and worse at scoring. He's too erratic and inconsistent and I say all that as a Palace fan.

This is an amazing deal for us.

Bolasie has only scored 9 goals in 3 Premier League seasons. The stats aren't exactly favorable.

£30 million maybe vastly overpaying...but on the plus side Bolaise has been known to cause both Liverpool and Everton problems, so that makes it ideal..stops him from causing us problems, and causes problems for our red neighbours.

The problem is that having sold Stones the selling clubs know you have money and will take advantage.

The transfer fees have been crazy this summer. I wonder if they will settle down and this season is more of a one off tbh?

IM not sure about Stones.

He clearly has a bit of talent on the ball and if he learns the defensive side of the game he could be a very very good centre back. Im not sure id be spending 50million on a player that still needs work in defence though. You can get away with it further up the pitch as any mistakes can be dealt with by the rest of the team. A defensive mistake though costs you goals.

There were players that they were being linked with that had me more worried than them signing Stones tbh.

It's been the TV money not the Stones deal...and the payments of nearly £100 million per club in PL is per season for the next two as well, so no I don't think this will be the last of silly prices.

Yes, and I think Everton is the clear winner here (well them and Barnsley who have done very well out of this deal), as selling Stones for a high fee and replacing him with a commanding leader in Williams, is a cracking bit of business.

Bolasie is a 1 in 5 player. Has a decent game and then does nothing for weeks.
