Morning all! Happy new season day!

Best of luck to everyone and their teams for the opening day.

My team competes in League One so my season as a fan started last week, but I still follow Prem football avidly.

Very clever

In what way would a team "take advantage of the change of goalkeeper"? Both Caballero and Hart are experienced goalkeepers with this team. Caballero played every match for Man City in the League Cup. Guardiola is simply choosing which of two established goalkeepers he wants to play against Sunderland.

As far as I'm concerned, neither Hart nor Caballero is good enough to play for Manchester City. Neither is of Champions League quality, and only Hart is good enough on his day to play in the Premier League against the top teams.

I also think the fact that Joe Hart is yet again the #2 goalkeeper at Manchester City will further call his position as England #1 into doubt. Fraser Forster could well be finding himself between the sticks for the Lions more often in future.
Either Forster or Butland, whose injury towards the back end of last season was very unfortunate indeed, should be England's number one goalkeeper, Hart at best should be third choice, but I fear that this might be too much to ask.

Oh man, Hull have named just 3 substitutes for today's match. What a way to start the season.

Edit: Actually, that's bullsh*t. BBC ballsed up.

Nice to see the Foxes are giving a start to the young lad Gray on the left wing.

Phelan could have bumped the numbers up by naming himself.

Trick: Missed.

Should be a good game. I always enjoy watching their fast paced play. Who needs the Olympic 100m when you've got Musa, Vardy and Gray hurtling forward!

They really should do. Hull have to be candidates to accrue the least Premier League points ever.

leicester were fantastic to watch last season, and although chelsea have stolen kante from them, their new signings look VERY promising indeed.

As we witnessed in the community sheild, if they play vardy in, its a goal.

what a curtain raiser, the PL could not have hand picked a better game for the neutrals to watch.

That makes little sense to me. Forster and Butland are largely unproven at international level until they have been given a chance and actually taken it I dont see how you can dismiss Hart down to 3rd position?

that buffoon hodgson never gave them a chance, and we end up with average joe ego throwing the ball into his own net.

I fancy Hull to snatch a 1-1 draw today. For once, Leicester won't be the underdogs and that may not work in their favour.

They're on their way! Really good technique for that goal, whoever scored it!

Hull looking much better than expected. Having said that, Vardy should have had the ball in the net a couple of times - looking a bit rusty! Set up nicely for the second half

they both should claim that overhead kick!

vardy is looking rusty, should have had two goals so far. early doors

It's been given to Diomande, although it's about to be 1-1. Stupid Hull.

penalty, alan smith, after numerous replays, still cannot see huddlestone raking his studs down the achilles of gray!

It was outside the box though.

1:1 marez scores

Nice to see Leicester have been getting the benefits of being the champions of getting penalties for absolutely nothing.

Isn't the rule if the foul continues into the box it's a pen?

Yes, but I don't see how a trip/stamp can continue into the box, if it was committed outside. If he was being held, then fair enough.

Will have to see more replays but it appeared huddlestone was still making contact in the box. Surprised it was given though refs usually play it safe with a free kick when given the opportunity.

It's been shown that bald refs award more penalties.

If Snodgrass was fine to stand up the second play stopped, why couldn't he have rolled off the pitch allowing his team's advance to continue?
