Permanent change, looks a lot smarter than the old one.

Fair enough, it would be a bit if step down for him though, as with respect, I cannot see Everton fighting for either the title, or a Champions League place anytime soon.

Still if it is first team football that he wants, there are not exactly lots of other options in the Premier League available for a goalkeeper.

Bit of a kop out really, not that I am exactly wanting to see more of his skin though!

He did well with what little he had on though.

Getting rid of the two stars I think was a good idea, as generally they are for clubs I think that have won the major trophies, something City have yet to do, so they never really earned those stars, it was more of an cosmetic thing with them it seemed.

Clubs in England went through a phase of putting stars above or under their badges when they'd done nothing to earn them. I think Ipswich was another one. For me to put a star on your shirt, you need to have won the European Cup/Champions League or like in Italy where you put one star on your shirt for every 10 league titles.

Yes that was what I meant, City have done nothing of any significance in Europe, so them having those stars was just a tad bit out of place.

So I am glad that they have gone.

Rio Ferdinand talking about how Pep wouldn't have to deal with that where he comes from, Germany and Spain. We're going to have to listen to the Pep's left two pub leagues to join the biggest baddest league in the world nonsense all throughout the season. Can't wait.

It tells you everything you need to know about ferdinand and his insight.

I wasn't trying to prompt a dig at the club.

Am I not even allowed to comment on the design of a club badge without even having aspersions passed upon me??

You are too paranoid. I agree that it was an innocent post about your rivals, you'd need to have a history of such posts for me to think otherwise so please accept my humblest and most sincere apologies for any aspersions you feel may have been cast, rather than passed.

you didnt comment on the design of a club badge, you specifically and very transparently, made a dig about not being worthy of the two stars. Everyone else just said, i like the design.

The stars were part of the badge, they removed them, hence my comments regarding the their badge, that was all it was, there was no dig in there.

I agree that Manchester City should have removed the stars. Stars are for GOOD clubs with a history of winning things in Europe like all the GOOD team have, and City have never won in Europe like all the GOOD team so they're not GOOD enough to have stars underneath their badge, like all the GOOD teams do. They need to win in Europe like all the other GOOD teams first otherwise the stars shouldn't be there like they're there for all the other GOOD teams in Europe that have won a European competition, which City have not.

I agree. Pointing out how they didn't earn their cosmetic design choice couldn't be misconstrued as anything but a question of aesthetics.

Its the same every year, we build up opening day for weeks beforehand, we are filled with excitement and expectations. But more often then not, the first weekend is always a bit "meh".
